I've yet to hear of any regulated mod (battery voltage regulator) blowing up.. only non-regulated ones. The non-regulated ones are simply a push button switch that shorts positive and negative terminals of the battery via the coil of the device.
Of course if you're coil is of so little resistance as to cause a short, the battery is going to explode.. much like jumpering the postitive and negative batteries of a car battery.
If people stopped being uninformed idiots that don't know how to use an unregulated mod, then they deserve what they get..
Or in other terms, don't stare into laser with good remaining eye.
I just put together an i7 6700k and 32GB of DDR4 system together. I'm glad I held off on buying dedicated GPU for the moment (mostly due to the cost of the 980Ti)
After owning a Surface Pro 3 for a few months, and subsequently selling it, I often wonder how people can stand using Windows as a tablet.
I mean, Windows doesn't have very good tablet integration still, even with Windows 10... ever try to close those tiny close buttons for your non-metro programs?
Secondly, battery life is complete shit.. 3 hours or less I got out of my Surface.
Thirdly, you still have to run anti-virus, and all that other crap just like a desktop or laptop computer.
And lastly, you pretty much still need a keyboard with Windows.. which makes you think, why didn't I just buy a laptop instead?
If you want or need a tablet for the portability, you're still better off with an iPad or Android tablet.
I find their facts odd.. I wonder if somehow it includes Mint installs, because I keep checking Distrowatch and interest in Ubuntu always seems to be below Mint and Debian.
Slashdot should have an actual useful poll, like asking people what they use for Anti-Virus software. With all the geeks out there and their collective experience, it would be alot better than some Top 10 list posted by a company acting as a shill for a specific vendor.
And this would be my perfect browser. Focus on one thing only.. properly and safely rendering a page.. that's it!
If you want cookie retention and management, use an add on.. If you want DRM video (looking at you Netflix), use an add on.. If you want bookmark management, use an add on.. If you want , use an add on..
Users will pick what features they want on the web, and what features they don't. Stop trying to shove shit like Pocket down our throats and removing features we use.
Seriously.. I ordered an open source Smoothieboard (for a 3D printer) from the US to Canada. It left Idaho, went to Los Angels and then went to Tokyo where it sat for two weeks.
I'm being serious, why isn't Microsoft Windows 10 top of the list right now?
It comes embedded with software that meets the definitions of spyware (recording your mouse movements and keystrokes) _and_ malware. They even have a way of changing/upgrading it by a way of a command and control server (windows update).
When you can't even trust your OS, further blaming additional software on it seems amusing.
If you're too impatient to wait for Windows update to tell you your rolling wave install is ready for installation, you can download the media immediately.
I burned though 3 Lycosa keyboards (keycaps breaking, backlighting failing, USB misdetection) in as many months. Thankfully Amazon has a generous exchange program, which I ended up using.
Also, why the hell do I need to sign up for a fsckin account on their website for drivers which should have been included in the package in the first place!
Presumably VR porn means 'interactive' porn.
So are they going to film it at 320x200, then blow it up on the big screen?
I'm still curious why the option for "secure chat" in Telegram only exists for handsets, but not the desktop apps.
The bears might have something to say about people wanting to bare bear arms.

I run a 8GB ram drive for my browser cache to cut down on unnecessary SSD usage... as well as a VM for testing various Linux distros.

We all knew this was going to happen the moment Facebook's involvement was rumoured.
This doesn't come as a surprised, and in most cases was expected... which is why I swore I'd never buy one.
I noticed a few things from my travels that create the delays.
One.. laptops, taking them out and putting them a 2nd tray.
Two.. taking your shoes off. This is rediculous.
Three.. people that don't take off jewelry and beep at the metal detector causing a wand screening before the next person can go through.
And lastly, idiots that wait until their at the front of the line before they start preparing for screening.
Come on people.. take your jacket off, check your pockets, and get your laptop out before you get to the front of the line.
My Mac Pro is 9 years old.. because the new Mac Pro's are complete shit.
+1 Amen Brother
I use Panda, but it tends to have ALOT of false positives. Far more than I had with paid Avast and Kaspersky.

Doesn't surprise me anymore when shit ends up going to the wrong place.
Because blowing dust in everyone's face from all that thrust will be sure to make you friends and look cool.

The Obama administration has announced it will not require companies to decrypt encrypted messages for law enforcement agencies.
Translation: Because the ones that are important to us already have backdoors.
If you have a Windows 7/8.1 Home key, get the Home edition.. if you have a Win 7/8.1 Pro key, download the Pro edition.

As someone who just sold a Zenbook Prime for being an utter piece of crap, and the 3rd one returned, I beg to differ.
