    Give me a break dude. The abuses in Iraq are to be condemmed and those responsible should do jail time, but it doesn't come close to the Rape of Nanking and to suggest otherwise is a distortion of history.

    Agreed, I think it is incredibly short-sighted to be outsourcing higher-level IT work. In some cases, companies are training the foreign workers, giving them their design documents and then having them implement the product. In 5 or 10 years these workers you trained not only have all your IP, they live outside US jurisdiction and they will be ready to compete with you directly, perhaps even using the code you paid for!

    Bullshit he doesn't have a point. There are many excellent, well educated, CS and EE students graduating every year, and many of them are having a hell of a time finding a job in this market, or are you trying to tell me they haven't been educated in math and science?

    Agreed, Google has already bent to Scientology, who knows what they'd let happen to your e-mail. Also check out the problems the Orkut service had with its terms of service. Google is a company no matter how well intentioned.

    Its not always a bad thing to have memory in use. In fact, Linux aggressively tries to make use of every piece of memory it can. If you haven't used an application for awhile it will page it into swap and reclaim some RAM for the file cache or other programs.

    The other thing to be careful of is top and other memory reporting utilities report X as taking up far more RAM than it actually uses. This is because X mmaps your video card memory. So if you had 128 megs of video RAM, your X would look pretty huge.

    I'd imagine so, considering I just upgraded to Fedora Core 1 through apt from Redhat 7.3. I was pretty impressed it didn't break anything. Rebooted into the new kernel and everything.
