What makes you think there is any choice in the US today?

Latency? Do you know anything at all about firewire? The performance limits are a lot higher than any hard drive.

So many people go buy the Maxtor junk and then wonder why the drive sounds like a jet engine a few months later.
You can get the Hitachi 400GB drives from http://www.zipzoomfly.com/ ZipZoomFly for $330.
Only the 75GXP line was lemons. 120GXP and higher releases have been MUCH higher quality. (Don't argue with me about it as I have FOUR 7K250 drives, a DOZEN 120GXP drives and a DOZEN 180GXP drives in use 24x7 across a variety of desktop systems.)
I guess you've failed to notice the 400GB drives available for the past year?
The shuttle design in use today was picked from several concepts in the early 1970's.
They purposely picked a design that required NO NEW TECHNOLOGY TO DEVELOPE in order for it to be cheaper to build.
One of the rejected designs was a 2 piece craft that was 100% reusable..... Yup, exactly like SpaceShip One today.
Another design was a 1 piece craft that was 100% reusable. But that requried development of high speed ram jets that no one wanted to fund.
You must be one of those worthless English Teaching Assistants who can't get a real job.
The English language changes as it is used. Not as it existed in some old book.
