Ok, admitedly I didn't read the second half of your post... it started to bore me, but the first part reminded me of a story I thought was funny... hehe...

my mother wanted to by my little 8 year old brother some shin pads for soccer from Dick's Sporting Goods (a big chain around here... not sure how far it spreads). She wasn't thinking anything bad at all when she innocently went to http://www.dicks.com to look for shin pads... The gay p0rn flowed freely to her unsuspecting eyes. Luckily myself and my little brother weren't around, so we missed this all, but from what I'm told, there seemed a limitless amount of new pop ups every time she closed a window, so she ended up rebooting. What fun online shopping can be!

by the way, I'm not just a little kid, like I'm sure lots of you are thinking, I'm a professional sys admin, done with college and all... I just happen to have a young brother. =D

The way I see things, I'll stick to buying normal CDs. I don't buy "new" music, so I pay about $12 per disc usually. There's about an average of 12 songs on a CD. When you add the costs of bandwidth, blank discs, and the burner, plus the time it takes, it's cheaper to just buy a CD. Plus, when you buy the full disc, it exposes you to other music by artists you like, and this can often lead to you finding great "gems" that you may have never heard if you only burn songs you know and like. This is just my opinion, and it's most likely wrong, but I thought I'd share it.

If it's a replacement, who says I want to give the whole world my phone number? If I want them to have it, then I'll give it. Also, if you move and get a new phone number, are you forced to get a new email address too?

If it's in addition to my current addresses, why bother? It's just one more place I have to set up spam filters. One more address to check. Also, couldn't spammers easily pick up a few phone books and use those numbers to vastly increase the size of their database?

    just some thoughts.

I was trying to say that how it works is more important than how it looks. That's it. The parent post mentioned something along the lines of "macs are better because macs are prettier", and I was trying to say that I don't give a damn how it looks, whether it's a pc or mac. I want it to run well. That's all. No intent to flame mac users or anything. In another post of mine I mentioned that I'd like to get a mac... if I had any spare cash ;) Sorry for the confusion.
