Thanks for the link; I owned that years ago - should probably pick up a fresh copy. Not from the EEEVIL Amazon.com tho! I seem to recall greatly enjoying the recounting of the tulip debacle. Human nature hasn't changed a bit, has it!
Acclaim has cranked out an astonishingly large number of mediocre-to-awful games in the last several years.
To be honest, they haven't done *anything* worth playing lately except for the Burnout series, which has now been taken over by EA.
While any developers who lose their jobs due to Acclaim's demise have my sympathies, Acclaim's departure from the scene will not be a Bad Thing for the gaming industry.
You won't be able to run any kind of *nix on the thing if these specs are accurate; non-trusted (read: non-Microsoft)code will be locked out in the CPU itself. Unless you are real handy with a laser, I don't see how you're gonna get around that.....
That's what was cool about The Seventh Guest (and the 11th Hour as well): the puzzles for the most part required actual reasoning and couldn't be brute-forced. I remember this one chess-derived puzzle which almost reduced me to tears. Good times!
I wouldn't blame the U.S. political environment as much as the Management culture at NASA, coupled with the "smaller, faster, and cheaper" design philosophy currently in vogue.
Of course, as a geek, I'm always looking for ways to blame Management!;-)
Ubisoft ought to consider opening the source of the online component. Open source MMORPG's (or MUD's anyway) have been around forever. It would be cool to see what a few thousand of us could come up with.
You don't need a fancy remote...Just get any old wireless (infrared) mouse, hook the dongle up to your PS/2 port, and you're all set.
Thank goodness for cable!

Never before (outside of a David Mamet script) have I seen such a detailed picture of con artist
playing on someone's combined greed and credulity.
The art of the Con is alive and well...
tabbed browsing
popup blocking
mouse gestures
Incorporate stuff like that and get a jump on the competition...
Oh, wait....nevermind.
Dear gl4ss,
Fuck you.
Love, id Software

Quite the opposite in fact....
non-trusted (read: non-Microsoft)code will be locked out in the CPU itself.

Send them to XEN.
Kind of gives you insight into the bureaucratic mindset in general, especially as applied to subjective matters like decency....

"I had to eat the chickens to protect them"
I blame the sun!
So then how do you explain the rampant success of the 'Left Behind' series????
coupled with the "smaller, faster, and cheaper" design philosophy currently in vogue.
Of course, as a geek, I'm always looking for ways to blame Management! ;-)
May as well just go with the status quo, where their spies just *steal* our tech!
I was worried that they were like a flesh-eating variant or something.
Phew! :-)
What makes this batch of cicadas newsworthy? We have them here in NJ every year. I did RTFA, just not sure what the fuss is about.....

If God had meant us to separate tracks, He wouldn't have invented crossfading!
oh, wait. nevermind.
