Can someone explain to me why manufacturers of software are not liable for leaving gaping security holes in software they release and its always turned towards the user. Oh the user shouldn't have done this, that and the other (yes people are stupid for downloading from unofficial sources) but the system shouldn't be so exploitable from the beginning.
No one learned from Windows all these years? What, too hard to create secure system? I guess its more important to give the consumer a new shiny every 6 months then actually create a secure system that runs on the shiny new thing.
Wouldn't it have made more sense as a Gov to put out an announcement to the German people and say "We need printer drivers" for Linux. If you would like to write the drivers this is the hardware we need drivers for. Write them and you get a nice national pat on the back and possibly a new job from a tech company. Win win for every one.
I guess being next door to US, Canada doesn't count as a worthy place to have Checkout available to merchants but they sure don't tell you that till you sing up and then get shafted.
Since isoHut is just a search engine any win for the record labels would royally fuck search engine usage in Canada. Just like with UBB consumer rage will follow, which really sucks that it has to come to that in order for joe average to notice they are getting a Shaftner.
>I find resting a tablet on my lap and navigating with a finger a hell of alot more comfortable than trying to balance a notebook
Yah on your lap then what? Try using it on your coffee table with out bending your neck all the way down. But at the end of the day its your money. i'll take the not as comfortable on my couch (according to you) note book which I can use anywhere properly as a full fledged computer with a proper keyboard then some one hand finger typing tablet.
Seriously why would I pay for this thing when a 13" $399 notebook will do, with wifi card already installed. I can then choose who ever for my wifi internet. Don't give me that "I want something comfortable on my couch shit", my laptop sits just fine on my arm rest with a wireless mouse.
We need a mass mailing where 1000's of people mail in their Sony labelled products to Sony. I got plenty of cd and dvd from Sony entertainment plus a few old PS1 laying around that I'm gonna mail in.
Excessive exposure to violent video games labels and other violent media labels has been linked to aggressive behaviour like impulsive buying of violent video games and other media.
>ood to see the terrorists haven't won everywhere...
That's because a lot of the people in Eastern block countries where still oppressed till the late/early 80/90's and fear is what they lived with everyday so they accepted it as port of their daily life.. Here in Canada/US people are just spoiled and the effects of WW2 have long withered away so they look to the gov for protection which the gov is more then happy to use that as a way to control and take away basic rights.
So 10% of China can afford the software and the other 90% would never be able to afford it since its probably costs as much as their yearly income so they just downloaded pirated versions.
>Netflix pays the ISPs zero dollars to use their networks to stream to their customers, unlike how the content provider's pay the networks for airtime. Bandwidth unfortunately isn't free.
NO "I" pay SHAW to access and get info from Netlix, not my problem SHAW sold me on a service that they can't deliver on. What was the last time Slashdot paid SHAW so that I could access it from my home computer. Yah....
SHAW and ROGERS are pushing hard to penalize people for using services like Netflix with their new caps and $1-2 per gig for going over. CRTC+SHAW+ROGERS+BELL= Consumer shafting FTW!

And chances are some of those passwords are reused for other websites/emails/services making it easier for some shady US agency to access them.
I've been seeing Kijiji tv ads for the last two weeks locally. Hmm study comes out when Ebay starts running about free classifieds on Kijiji.

Thats why you open source it so anyone can have a look at the code.

Malaysia Releases Genetically Modified Mosquitoes .... What could possibly go wrong?
790 kg (1,741.7 lb) 970 kg (2,138.5 lb),
USA 1,750 lb (790 kg) 2,145 lb (973 kg)
Quite the improvement from the 1970's  Exotic materials and that's all they could save?
