Do not miss the fact that Google is part of this article. The IPO of Google will make the beginning of the next tech boom cycle, already the ground work for the tech story changing postive is in the works...
Dude check out the history of the VCR the movie industry thought it would destroy them and be a pirates dream. It was not the case however the average price of a VCR movies dropped from $80 to $5.99 over time and probably because of the the ability to copy the content. DVDs seems to be at the right price point in general to handle the P2P world, CDs are still priced to high with regard to the P2P situation and the should include MP3s of the songs and no copy protection...
Thanks, I was getting tired of the lawyer, EULA, privacy, politics stuff. These gadets rock! I actually got excited about a Microsoft sewing machine (luckily I came to me sense and found the iPronto to be a much cooler device). The exercise bike is something I have been thinking about designing myself for a long time, to bad it was not just a USB device with speed inputs.
No I was not looking down my nose at design issues, but I don't think they should be given more weight than the "technical stuff". I would love to have a great designer or even better a great writer to work with.
What bothers me is how little technology posts or software posts have to do with technology/software.
Stop right there mister! This kind of talk could lead to a technical disscussion that has merits! Better to talk about "design issues", EULAs, and other stuff that everybody understands, too much code or science talk will just confuse the important "design issues"!
So? We could have nuked Baghdad but we didn't, we did it the hard way to save lives all around, open your mind just a little bit, just because we nuked Japan is no reason to take the threat of terrorists with nukes, chemical weapons, or biological weapons lightly.
The future - VOIP, Code Morphing, and 802.11!
No Lieberman is the one you have to look out for, he is a clone of the Chancelor, if you doubt this look at pictures of these two men side by side. I would love to see is stand on "cloning"...
Well said, this is perhaps one of the best comments I have ever read. Get a grip everybody the world is becoming a better place. In the near future the only war with Iraq will be multiplay C&C, I am not kidding this is the way things are going to be, it will be a much better world, full of multi-player goodness.
"may not be advertised or displayed on shelves" this part is plain stupid, but don't think it can't happen in the USA or other EU countries. We need to defend freedom, free speech, expression, etc. This is the job of all people, not just left, right, middle, libertarian, etc. get a grip it is a game, deal with it. What is wrong with the generation before my generation X? Why can't they relax just a little bit?
If we fund the arts, why not games? I am going to make a game that puts up a bitmap of a soup can, it will change color based on mouse movements, that seems like an art/game that deserves funding don't you? The problem as I see it is with art I can force everybody to enjoy it, for instance a giant metal pineapple like piece of art was put in front of City Hall here in Orlando, FL. Now everybody get s to "enjoy" it, but how can I force people to enjoy my game/art, they paid for it after all, and the must be forced to appreciated it!!!
This is in reaction to Transmeta. Intel is basically saying that the chip designers and the Linus guy who works on Linux are on the right track with the low power, code morphing, and long battery life stuff. The speed race was very important for almost ALL application up to about 1 GHz (don't fault Intel or AMD for the speed race of the last decade it was needed). Now more factors come into play, while speed will still be important for many apps, it will come in different forms such as blades, dual procs, etc. I own shares in Transmeta, I think they have a bright future.
God Bless America and our Troops!
Check out the new EDGE and FORGE comics from Cross-Gen I think the format is much better, it contains multiple issues at a fair price, would love to see other publishers go to this format.
trick! It will get you evertime! And don't tell me I know my spelling sucks (+10 point Physcological Disadvantage Can't Spell to Save Life (Frequent, Complete Impairment)).
will be happy. This is a single case of what happened in consumer technology. Doesn't apply to all markets, all customers, or all products. Enough of this story already!
Indeed CMK, and this is why DVD sells so well, they are a good value, it is the DVD movie that makes the CD look like a bad value to me. It happens everytime I walk into Best Buy, I always leave with a computer game, DVD, or X-Box game, they are better value than a CD.

Overprotected, the list goes on and on! Brittney rocks and I watch her videos constantly on Lauch!

What model of bike had serial output? I have been looking for an exercise bike with USB or serial data output.

Morrowind and NWN strike a good balance in this regard...

But a few terrorists with WMD can kill millions...

Nope it is because CGI special effect look good enough to do a wide range of super powers without it looking like junk.

I just want to see how it stack up versus Astro with 802.11g LAN from Broadcom...
AMD might not be there but Transmeta is...
You do NOT have to be wealthy to own stock, as a matter of fact many stocks are available for quite reasonable prices today...
