Firefox forced M$'s hand in turning many sites away from "This site requires IE to view" (eg. MSN Zone) because IE lost their market dominace (A more mature DOM/CSS helped too).
I would hate to see the return of this on the web even if the browser in favor is open source.
you'd have to be stupid to say that to a cop.
You'd have to be stupid to call your girlfriend stupid. Chances are, she won't be as understanding as the judge.
According to WikiPedia, we should question why this story got accepted.

The Slashdot editors are sometimes accused of posting (and even preferring) stories that are, themselves, thinly-disguised trolls, which encourage large numbers of postings in response, and of accepting kickbacks to post certain stories.
On the spam front, Gates said that Microsoft is working with all of the major ISPs on an initiative to positively identify the senders of e-mail. The system will rely on data from the DNS infrastructure to ferret out the true IP address of e-mail senders in an attempt to defeat the address-spoofing that is de rigeur for spammers. Gates said the system may be up and running by this summer.
Sounds like they plan to have their own White List of ISPs that play nice with M$. I wonder M$ will leverage this new free spyware tool to lock out smaller competing email systems that will be marked as "unsafe" by default.
Forget the commercial pre-built products. They are non-upgradable and expensive. Build it yourself and you can have navigation system/mp3/dvd/video files/fm tuner for relatively cheap price.

DTV has recently shut down the HU stream, the only hackable signal thus killing the demand for these equipment.
This PR throwing a meanless bone, in reality it is no longer a significant concern for them anymore.
THere is a console game from EA (xbox, ps2) that lets you drive the entire Springfield. The game goals is identical to Crazy Taxi.

XML.org has a Schema/DTD registry. Most of them are industry specific (I doubt you'd find a general usage definition such as photo tagging) but this is the largest repository I've seen.
In fact, New York County is only Manhattan. (Queens is Queens County, Brooklyn is Kings, Bronx is Bronx, and Staten Island is Dutchess.)
Minor correction. Staten Island is Richmond county. Dutchess is a county north of NYC, considered "upstate" by city-folks.

Also look up OPUS power supplies. They are especially made for the auto environment (soft shutdown/startup).

Not really, it's a different medium. English dubbed cell drawn Anime has proven to do well (Princess Monenoke) in the US.
