What power they do have they shoot off randomly in to Israel. How does this help the situation at all. I'm sorry, Israel has done many wrong and awful things, but you can't ignore the fact that Hamas is specifically targeting civilians. They don't even care about their own civilians and use them as tools to hide behind. And if the hiding fails and they get hit and their are civilian casualties, they cry to the world the injustice. Well, put on a uniform and fight then. Don't try to kill any Jew you can and then complain that your civilians got hurt. The whole thing just disgusts me. You read the forums to learn how to fit your ship, you run boring PvE mission to get more ISK to get bigger ships and run higher level boring PvE missions. PvP is mostly shooting up people who make a wrong turn or running around in vastly superior numbers. Expansions offer very very little new content. They might change that people can't abuse nano's anymore, but that is hardly what I would call interesting. You just go back to the forums and find out what the next over-powered fitting for your ship is.

Then maybe you should get Eve players to not put down people who don't like their game. If someone doesn't like it, they are too dumb or have ADD. There are plenty of reason to bad mouth the game. One part of it is the Eve community. If someone doesn't like something, they are encouraged to quit on the forums and people ask for their stuff.

I may find the game boring (it really is has nothing to offer to people who PvE), the user-interface to be poorly designed, the combat to be simplistic and a snore fest...but that's fine. It isn't a personal attack, I just don't like your game. But because I don't like it...I must lack the intelligence to play it? That's why people hate Eve. You come off as a reasonable person, but most Eve players just emit way too much smug.

People like to think Eve takes a degree to understand and they pat themselves on the back for being able to play it. It just takes a little more reading and is a lot less fun than other MMOs. I have gone back to it many times over the years and always come up with the same conclusion: it is a game I want to like, it is a game of extreme potential, but it always falls way short of the mark because it fails to deliver something that is enjoyable. I mean, you are in a space ship with all kinds of advanced weaponry...shouldn't that be fun? That and the game is forever tainted by CCP devs cheating. Single shard means that it will always be tainted by that and certain players/corps will always have the advantage over others.

It is nice to try to simplify everything like that, but that isn't realistic. The Wii has the new dynamic of a totally different control scheme than consoles of the past. People don't know how to use it well so there are more crap games. Plus, the controller lends itself to smaller, mini-game type games. A lot of these are just horribly done on every level. The PS2 has a lot of bad games. But the proportion of good to awful isn't as bad as the Wii's.

People with a 360 buy more games. Also, the Wii comes with a game which is generally counted in these surveys which artificially inflate the Wii's numbers. Fact is, everyone I know who has a Wii (with the exception one who has small children) don't touch their Wii anymore. I don't know everyone, but I think it is fairly telling about the games that are on the Wii. Everyone got one for the novelty of it and it being a sort of a status symbol. "Oh, you have a Wii? Cool, can I try?" But once the party is over, it doesn't really offer games that appeal to people to play them on their own. So they boot up their 360 and PS3. The funny thing is the guy is arguing for deeper games...which would help Nintendo do better. You are saying that Nintendo is fine and should do nothing. Why are you arguing against better games for the Wii? How is that helping?

It doesn't matter how good you are or how hard you try, there are always going to be combinations out there that you wouldn't even think of testing on that cause these issues. The only way to deal with this is with patching after the fact. So you have to give PC games a bit of slack.

You have to be realistic in this. It has nothing to do with a "culture of quality". It has to do with completely different problem spaces. Console games should be near flawless since you have the hardware. Unfortunately, a lot of people are like you and don't understand the problem. That hurts PC games image and there isn't much they can do about it. But it really is a much harder problem and someone posting to Slashdot should know better.

Honestly, the only way for them to win is for the game companies to come together and create their own used game store to compete with other used game stores. So you would sell FFX back to SquareEnix and they would re-sell it online or at the SquareEnix store.
