I think what the gp post was refering to was why in the friggini name of all that is good does this game have to require internet access to play the offline portions of the game. I agree that this crap is getting out of hand, and I for one will vote with my wallet (nevermind the fact that I can't play it on my machine anyways).
That isn't a backdoor draft. When you leave the military you know that it is possible to be called back into service. It's called being in the reserve. All soldiers are required to be in the reserver for a specified length of time. It's been this way at least as long as the draft has been abolished. Also another little know fact, medical personel can be drafted and have always been able to be drafted. It's always been this way and most likely will continue to be so.
The original argument was that the President was going to start drafting high school graduates, put a rifle in their hand and send them out to kill. This isn't going to happen without an act of congress. All of this draft business is FUD on the scale of SCO.

The General Accounting Office still has to account for all funds that are given to the Air Force. Likewise the Air Force must account for how it used the money (or something along those lines). If the Air Force doesn't want anyone to know how much it's spending on black ops, it inflates other budgets or creates false projects (like many think this is) to have a place to stick the money, instead of just having the money disappear.

No, it runs at the same level as the user you are logged in as. If you are logged in as admin, it runs with admin rights. If you log in as joeuser, it runs with joeusers rights.

Why couldn't someone write a worm that infected IM clients on Linux. Damn, don't you get it? Any box that isn't physically isolated from the rest of the world is vulnerable. Linux and GAIM are both less vulnerable only so far as people don't target them.
hehe, I ate so much raman in college I started eating it dry just for a change. Sprinkle a little of the flaver powder and crunch away. The bonus was that if you were poor (which I was), you could eat it dry, then drink a glass of water to rehydrate it. Filled you right up!
