Not played with anything other than my phone (Phillips Fisio 825) and a pc dongle, but I had to put a 4 digit code into the pc so the phone would accept the "pairing" and allow the pc access to dial-up etc. AFAIK thats the standard way of doing things specifically to stop hijacking. However I have swapped phone numbers with another phone with Bluetooth so I'd guess simple transactions are possible.
As for general sniffing, the whole design of BT with Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum was to make it impossible to tap into.
As for the antennas I'd guess you'll see some increase with a similar antenna to your 802.11 mods but dont expect wonders BT was never designed for the same range, its all about power saving.

The advantages of SD are the size, protected content can be put on it hence Secure Digital and if you wanna moan about all protection is bad, use an MMC, slightly smaller cheaper in places, uses the same slot.
And the most important thing compatability. All new camcorders afaik except sony take SD cards and loads of stills take SD, plenty of mp3 players take MMCs, my old phone took an MMC.
And heres something insightful, google palm SDIO, theres an add on camera, a bluetooth card, a wifi card coming up, a video out for presentations. Nothing but memory?

Exactly, check out the i875 chipset design on the 3rd page of the anadtech article and everything there without using pci, with a springdale/canterwood/nforce2 even, motherboard everything but the kitchin scsi is built in, expansion cards are becoming useless on average machines as proved by the huge growth of laptops and small form factor computers. As long as the agp slot keeps up with the pace then graphics cards will be happy and pci/pci-express cards will only be useful for workstation/server machines. Can anyone actually think of a useful expansion card that wouldn't duplicate something on a new motherboard (occasional firewire ommisions and scsi excluded)?

I own a palm (m500) and would consider buying this phone/pda if the price isnt too high.

To answer the problems above, have you ever tried to fit a 320/320 screen into a pocket you'd usually put a mobile phone in? The screen is bigger and looks clearer than my current 128/128 colour phone screen.
If you ever use a palm you'll quickly find that unless you're trying to put videos or mp3s in the memory, then even 8mb is enough I've not managed to fill my m500s 8mb yet even with a full suite of office apps and games.
As for the processor well it doesnt compete with pockets pcs but it doesnt have to, palm os is at home on a 16mhz dragonball which at a stretch will do full screen b/w video on the m500.
And finally the keyboard, does everyone have homer style fat fingers or something I've never had a problem with small buttons and I'm a 6ft 200lb bloke.

I'm a palm zealot, so sue me.
