Also available for the Kyocera 7135 (over at pdaphonehome.com). Definitely unique. I also have the 'Austin Powers'/'Our Man Flint' ringtone.
Worse yet, you can set rings for all your phonebook categories, much like many 'smart' phones out there. Once you can capture a sound, the possibilities (for torturing others) are endless!
That's not the point! The issue here is with upper management in the US, Canada, and England seeing that to outsource something to India will be "cheaper", and therefore they just blindly choose to do so. These people don't take into account any differences in the English language locally and over there. They don't take into account the time lost due to such miscommunication. It is an unknown to many management 'cost-cutters' who just see themselves aving (currency-units).
Relatively Recently, my friend's company finally decided to upgrade their DOS-based (yes, recently) financial package into one that was Windows-gui-based. They made the choice to use a programming shop from Bangalore. The project was delayed initially due to working out communications issues, and that took 2-3 months. After other delays and problems, the product was obsoleted by the time it was ready, but that's not at issue.
My biggest problem is the people making the choices before weighing ALL the factors. I have nothing against quality techies anywhere. My complaint is more against quick-draw decisions where such things are NOT even considered.
I've worked at several organizations with a multicultural atmosphere, and I actually prefer it. However, someone has to decide how the communication will transpire. Sometimes I've questioned whether the decision makers have thought that through enough for things to work. In many cases, it hasn't.

Caller ID does NOT stop the assholes who want to call me at 9AM on a Sunday morning after I've been rebooting server crashes until 6AM from the night before. This sort of early AM call happens more than I ever wanted.
Caller ID was a stopgap measure, and yes, it allows you to choose whether or not to pick up the phone. So does screening calls behind an answering machine. However, these methods only treat the symptom, not the cause. That's what this is all about.
Yes, I'm fully capable of taking the phone off the hook, but what's the point of that - should I be forced to prevent legitimate calls from arriving?
"Just about every" does NOT include Car and Driver . I, for one, don't give a damn about the gripes that radartest guy does (he does say at one point that the V1 is 'too' sensitive, sheesh). I do like having some sort of idea where to look for the police, which is one of the reasons I chose what I did...
Besides, If you wanna get the latest/greatest, you don't have to do a forklift upgrade with the V1 - you send it in and they upgrade the code in it. That, I can live with.
I'm sure the Escort is a fine unit, but I do prefer my V1.
TaxCut crashed on me a couple of times. It does read TurboTax documents, but I believe that it didn't like the stuff from last year's, which is why I believe it kept crashing. It also had problems locking up while printing.
IIRC, I ended up starting TaxCut "fresh" and didn't import last year's TurboTax data. Then, I got it to work, without issue.
If TurboTax plays nicely next year, I'll go back to it.
Yeah, and I remember that many in the action-oriented cartoons of the 60s and early 70s, it was always a disaster if the good guys turned the bad guys' (mcguffin) up to full power. That would always cause an explosion.
I remember catching first-run episodes of the Herculoids (Gloop and Gleep), Johnny Quest (with his dad's Live-in Companion Race Bannon), Spider Man (Levitating Manhattan Island!), The Young Sentinels (with Super Samauri), Star Trek (the animated series), Superman, The various Batmans (including Bat-Mite!), The Superfriends (pre-Whazzup!!!), the New Adventures of Gilligan, Far Out Space Nuts (I said lunch, not launch!!!), Space Academy (with Jimmy Doohan and that annoying robot Peepo), Speedbuggy & JabberJaw (and several other Scooby Doo clones), Josie and the Pussycats (and its sequel The Pussycats in Outer Space), The Lost Saucer (with that damn Dorse!), Lidsville and HR Puffnstuff...
The list goes on.
The good thing about Saturday morning TV was that it allowed the grownups to sleep late while the kids would zone out in front of the TV.
to host a show together.

How many of you have dealt with these Asian techies and have been on the phone longer due to a misunderstanding between yourself and a techie?
Rather Frustrating!
Maybe there's a learning curve, but if I had my druthers, I wouldn't put up with it.
That's cuz you're secretely Klingon, and they want you to get to Stove-o-cor (I've already ducked and covered....)
Do Not Taunt Happy Fun Ball.
Uh, Administrator?
So, in the past month, that's Apple: 1, Microsoft: how many????
Cowboy Curtis, please!
Too bad there's only one Olympus Mons...
Don't worry, it just means I signed up earlier here. Who cares?
IBM OS/2 was better and faster in its Windows emulation than Windows was. Everyone said so.
IBM, unlike Xerox, will not go quietly.
I think IBM has finally learned the lesson they missed in the whole OS/2 - Microsoft debaucle, or the one the missed during the IBM PC - Microsoft debaucle, or the ...
However, the funniest bit was the Rene Russo 'reveal'...
Yeah, well when I heard that Microsoft is selling the Xbox at a loss, I had no compunction about buying one. (don't harp on licensing fees, I know).
How many would we have to buy to make Microsoft go under?

Sorry, donotcall.gov is LONG OVERDUE.
Remember, Reagan fired all the Air Traffic Controllers, and then got (*) an airport named after him.
I guess Irony can be pretty ironic sometimes...
(*) - or someone else got it for him.
Aside from those people who are concerned with the issue of the not-for-profit orgs getting your number?

However, he's probably OK when reporting about police radars, not about consumer detectors, however!
He's definitely got a burr in his saddle over the Valentine1 unit and there's more info here.
Just remember to NOT put half-drunk cans of soda into the liquid, unless you want a spewing guyser of cola ;)
since that show needs a better storyline.
Wednesday's season finale is a good start!
I'm with ya.

The good thing about Saturday morning TV was that it allowed the grownups to sleep late while the kids would zone out in front of the TV.
When WB decided to get into Laserdiscs, they published their archives.
Included on one was this Bugs Bunny episode where he infuriates an overly-stereotypical Japanese soldier.
After complaints from Japanese people everywhere, it was pulled from further releases.
Lockdown your servers, you insensitive clod!
That's because he bought an IRONIC breeze purifier, not an ionic one!
