To kill the ABS, atleast in some of the older Hondas (like early 90s), pull the park brake up a few clicks, and drive a short distance. The ABS light will come on and deactivate ABS. Volia! Worked in my dad's 91 legend.
Another way is to pull the fuse for ABS (I've never tried this one).
Here's something I'm trying to interest the Japanese electronics firms in this. This would be a great product for Sony. This is a combination cassette player and colostimy bag. It's called "Shitman"! Huh? Sure. Well you'd never see that. You'd never see that.
What the AC is talking about is a situation like this:
At high pressures (great depths) CO2 will remain in solution. All is well. However, if conditions change, this CO2 can suddenly release to the surface killing animals/people. look at this for more info on how deadly it can be
This normally isn't a problem with lakes because of the temperature change with the seasons cause the water to cycle, and CO2 on the bottom will be released subsequently. (This happens because water density changes with temp, and if the top layer is denser than the bottom layer, it will sink and the bottom layer will rise.)
Now, when the water doesn't cycle because the surface temp doesn't change- such as near the equator, CO2 buildup can reach extremely high levels. Thus, when the CO2 is released, it's a deadly concentration.
The fear is that if the oceans suddenly change and CO2 will be released making deadly concentrations.

Yea, I spent 500 bucks for a "gaming rig" (plus 60 bucks for 1 gig of ram).
Specs: Gateway 507GR 300 watt PS 3.0 HT p4 512 meg ram 200 gig HDD DVD/CD burner Intel GMA 900 integrated graphics Ex Pee home Cost so far: 350+tax (was on clearance at Orfice Depot over the summer)
Added: ATI Radeon x700 pro 256 PCIE @$150
Total: 500 bucks. For even more kicks, I added 1 gig of ram and a tv tuner card.
Or it could be the GPU overheated and slowed down.
And from my experience, the GPU is placed under the keyboard (in the Dells I've seen anyway). So play some 3D game for a while the keyboard gets really hot.
If the laptop is fairly old (1 year or more), there's probably a good deal of dust built up on the heat sinks, etc. So when the fans come on, theyre fairly useless because the dust is like a blanket over everything.
So yea, simple solution is to blow the dust out of there.
I don't have 1000.
But would you be willing to trade for a use of my donkey for the rest of winter, and 300 pounds of my potato harvest?
I don't think hyperthreading makes a difference.
I did it on a 3.0 (530 core,800 fsb) HT on and off both yeilded about 85 sec.
On my 1.0 gig p3 (tulian) 4 min 15 sec.

Yea, those infamous pumps. When it dies, replace it with a metal one.
Anyway on this topic, I used to have a manager who was an "automotive engineer" in the 80s. His job? Re-engineer parts to "Save a few cents".
He worked that for less than a year, quit and went the computer route. And it sure did pay off for him.

She was a Microsoft Rep at her school. Basically did promotions for MS- like raffle off free software/games.
After she graduated, she tried the MS interview but didn't make the cut.
Anyway, she had some leftover software and gave me a copy of Visual Studio. Nice but sadly, I'm an environemntal sci major.

Screw it. It's not improtant anyway.

They went out and tried a larger drive (6 gig I beleive).
Long story short, the PSP firmware didn't like the 6 gigger and refused to use it.
