It plays PC games, so that is basically BS meant to make it seem like they have some support. Nobody is making "Phantom Exclusive" games yet...it plays PC games so thats that.
Yep, and there's a ton of free stuff to go along with all the meetings at the Marriot and whatnot (from clocks, to mints, tons of pens, notepads etc. and occasionally something more expensive)
Thats the basic tradeoff for 1.8 GB of usable disc space...Sony has some experience in making portable laser assemblies and hopefully this (the UMD mechanism) is the result of careful analysis of the MiniDisc portables...
Haha, how could someone recognize a USB 2.0 slot from a USB 1.1 slot? I don't doubt this at all (in fact it's the most credible that this is what Apple sued about (the leak)...We'll probably find out at Macworld...
UMD SUCKS! Its basically a MiniDisc and I respect and love the technology but MiniDiscs had a full protective cover and a sliding cover which was opened only inside the machine. UMD is a cheaper version with a permanent open slit in the case! It's just asking for dust etc. to pile up in itself! Whoever came up with the idea of a partially open covered disc needs to be fired! At least with an open disc you could clean the dust if there was any, with the UMD, its that much harder to get rid of dust that has already made its way in and hard to keep dust out in the first place (unless you carry it in its case, which is as big as a PS2/DVD cover.) Bad move on Sony's part.
After residency, it doesn't matter which school you went to. Most doctors make about the same no matter what school they went to, especially ones in private practice. There are also very few doctors in the first place, so most employers are happy to get a doctor in the first place, though this varies depending on the specialization. When is the last time you checked which college/med school your doctor went to?

Or a distributed computing worm designed to spread and crack HD-DVD protection super quick by spreading to unsuspecting computers. Sounds like a worthy cause to me...
He may have a v7 PS2 which isn't Model 70000. Model 50000 was the last "large" PS2 made. There are no Model 70000 Large PS2 but there are PS2s commonly referred to as v7, which are model no. SCPH-39000, 39001, 39002, 39003, 39004 or 37000.
The society of the future will laugh at people today because today you are being asked to pay for someone's opinions. Why not get out there and do something? I mean if you actually create something that benefits society, you should be rewarded, but to pay for someone's opinions is ridiculous. Is it technically illegal to view a US Open tennis match from the window of your appartment if you didn't buy a ticket? Why is it not illegal then to watch it on TV for free? Why should I pay for a song that I can listen to for free on radio?
I blame Sony internal structure for many of these problems. Sony competes with itself just as much as it competes with other companies and each division inside Sony has a hierachy in itself and rarely do divisions work together. For example, Sony recently came out with 3 different answers to the iPod, each claiming to be the next walkman, and a while ago there was a news story about a Playstaion Portable developed secretly by Sony without giving Sony Computer Entertainment (responsible for all things Playstation) information!
Samsung has grown leaps and bounds since their CEO made a serious drive toward improving quality. A few years ago, I regarded Samsung as a crap company similar to Sylvania or other cheap second rate brand but now I view it up there with the best. Samsung products are far more reliable these days and although I am not loyal to it like I was to Sony in the 90s, I know that when I buy a Samsung product today, its going to last at least 5 years, which is much more than I can say for current Sony products.
Not to mention Betamax (the most famous by all means), MicroMV (still being produced as a competitor to MiniDV), Professional Disc (uses Blu-Ray technology but isn't standardized), Libré (Sony's E-book format) etc.
The whole point of a console is so that you don't have to stare at your monitor...most people don't want to play console games on a monitor and most people certainly don't have 21" screens. If you want to play games on a monitor so badly, make youself a VGA cable and play progressive scan games on it.
What are you talking about? For PS2 games, the only processor that developers have to program efficiently is the EE (includes the VUs), the IOP is simply there to coordinate inputs (from the controllers, hard drive, memory card etc.) and the IOP also serves as a compatibility layer for PS1 games as it is the same processor that was used in the PS1 (MIPS R3000). Coding for the EE isn't hard, it just requires a different coding philosophy than what most people are used to.

Yes they do, try it out yourself. In the past they didn't but with the newest version of quicktime they do.
You'd think there would be a defecit of candy as well...

It's gotta be one light-ass hangover to be described as 'mellow'....

Its easier than saying Playstation 2 Model 70000.

Haha, I am sure Apple Programmers and Engineers will be optimistic when the end of the world is near! "Best way to test hardware durability!"
This franchise is fixing to become the Lord of the Rings of videogames....
The mainstream media is neither qualified nor wanted by gamers to cover gaming.

I'll be sure that they get A/C here before you arrive!
Sony has a Monitor Available (w/ the Linux Kit), Nintendo plans monitor support for its Revolution console, and Microsoft is undecided...

There is a generic SNES on PS2 emulator: its called SNES Station. The problem is that you need to use either the swap trick or a modchip to play it...
