Besides, a few "lawn sized" patches of light aren't going to make the place any less bleak during the winter months...it might blind some folks looking in the wrong direction, though. Or did I miss the part where they add in some kind of diffusing lens?

Do they use a diffusing lens to protect peoples' eyesight from direct sunlight? Why would one be required in this case? I ask this half-rhetorically... perhaps there's some strange effect present, like when looking at an eclipse.

The way things seem to be headed (based on TFA), just wait a few years. Give the old folks time to die off, and the younger group time to get fed up and leave. $2,400,000 saved.

And an entire town to convert into the world's largest rave area. Those mirrors would still come in handy, though.

I really do laugh every time someone brings up this line of reasoning when talking about people who copy music. Seriously, if they thought the prices were fair, do you think they'd be illegally downloading it?

Allow me to laugh at your line of reasoning. Fair pricing has nothing to do with copyright infringement. I'm surprised you are conflating the two. You know the whole correlation/causation line. If you made it a penny per song, you'd still have people who download their music rather than purchase it just because they can. On the other hand there are people who, even though they have the knowledge and ability to download all of their music for free, still refuse to download any music and purchase all of their CDs. In the end, it doesn't matter what the reasoning... people will go to any lengths to justify their behavior.

Free + perfect reproduction + you won't get caught + it's not really stealing ... wins out over fair prices for a lot of people. It's the difference between "This theatre charges too much, so I'll find another theatre or just not watch the movie" -vs- "This theatre charges too much, so I'm going to sneak in the back door without paying and get free entertainment".

Regardless of how accurate the Geneva Convention reflects current warfare, do you think a suspected terrorist should be denied the basic due process afforded others? Then I hope you don't mind being held indefinitely. I'm sure you'll be comforted to know that it's perfectly in keeping with the Geneva Convention when you're released 10 years later, never having stood trial, never having access to a lawyer, no phone calls, no visits, and never having had a chance to even find out what evidence brought the authorities to detain you.
