    My point exactly, and on a bike you can go faster then 12.5 miles/hour, for longer then 11 miles, ride in the street and not risk smashing into a passerby, and more important in Canada, a bike can ride in snow! (really, though I am not held responsible for any injury you will sustain from trying this. I am not a trained professional, just a canadian ;-))

    This is really sad. I wish people would rock themselves to firmer abs, expecially those with the high BMI we say il the previous /. poll. This just seems like one of "the devices of tomorrow, today, that will save energy and make people more efficient" - hard to be more efficient and consume less energy then sitting in a chair all day working on a computer, isn't it?

    On a side note I could use of those at school, where they have us work on our laptops on wodden chairs and tables that are too low for my 6'2" figures. My backs aches like hell. However, even though I use my laptop almost for everything, nothing beats a pad of paper and a wodden pen to think in physics

    It really has to do with the bragging rights. I agree, right now I Maple all the way trough my math courses and it is plenty fast on a p3 1.13.

    The only way I could justify this to myself is if I picked up 3dsmax again ON A PERSONAL BASE, ie. not getting paid for it, just for fun, and if the motherboards were cheaper, then it could be fun just for the hell of it.

    On a side note, how is the volume of sound generated by smp systems, you being an ex-SMPer? I was thinking maybe dual vantec tornados 7 turned all the way down...

    and for those of you wondring if I RTFA, I did, and let me point out one passage :

    Nuclear fusion is what powers stars, including the sun, and is the principle behind hydrogen bombs. Scientists have been trying for decades to replicate and control fusion for use as a cheap, pollution-free power source.

    I grasp that this may trigger a power source simmilar to that of the sun - described later in the article - but how the hell can they harness that ? Gives me a cold-fusion-in-the-Saint kinda vibe...

    ... But can you justify using that much power (albeit in a very short burst) that could warm those without a roof over their head? Can you justify burning all that coal or making that much radioactive waste? Give me room-temperature supraconductors any day of the week, but Why The Hell would I want to know how it feels to be like on the surface of the sun .. ? o_O

    As one for all things scientific brought to our yought, I thing this mall idea is quite good. Maybe this will bring more kids out there tinkering with old remote controlled cars and rockets this summer.
    Yes it is my intention to do this exact same thing, remote controlled electric car with rocket boosters attached on the side : bring the car up to speed, then clutch the transmission to go free-wheeling then trigger the boosters at a distance. Yes fun. Volunteers? - I am aiming for physical engieneering and hope that this program will bring more people into the wonderfull world of physics

    had a pretty innovative ad for a week there. It showed something to the extent of :"No Ad here for a week, brought to you from MSN of Os X" and then dissapeared after 3-4 seconds, leaving you without flashing lights or anyway, which made the surfing quite enjoyable.

    If you missed what the ad said you could hover on it and it gave you a hands-on on what MSN is and blah blah... I have to admit that was a slick ad!

    I should have been less implicit in my previous post, I trust hism that he has sources inside. I don't warrant his marketing bullshit but for the inside deals on the marketing side of things, his record is AFAIK clean.

    I don't realy care about the hardware deals though

    Apple had conversations with Universal music divison earlier in march but they left without putting any offers on the taple.

    http://www.hardocp.com ran a tast lately on what processor their readers used and it came out 74.6% AMD on top I belive. The trend right now is buying a 1700+ and overclocking the shnitz out of it. People are reaching speeds of 2.1 Ghz very easely with them. I own one and with an average fan my core does not get hotter then ~40C at 1.9 Ghz. They are great chips at 50$ each

    But there is the dilema that anybody in a bad mood can be a BOFH. Hell, even my ex-girlfriend could be a BOFH when she was in that time of the month. How about BOFHSCP ( ... specialized in computer problems), expecially those that originate 18 inches from the screen?
