    What are you. some kinf of frikin cyborg. This scares me.
    Its one thing when people use aimbot hacks to play half human half AI in a LAN game. Its quite another when they start thinking about actually making them selves like this. If god intended for humans to be virtual file systems, we would not be born, rather produced from a Vat. Remember the Matrix- the scene where there are millions of lines of human batteries..

    Fine go ahead..integrate yourself permenantly into a matrix. But I will be pissed if I am one of only a handful of people who never use that s*** and spend my time rehabbing people like you...

    False, but we are talking immense computing power nonetheless. , secure communications
    True and the ability to decode encrypted conversations by terrorists and others
    False. This will only encourage terrorists to increase the number of bits used, and possibly an aternative algorithm. Though it may still be broken, it would take too long, rendering the act of breaking the encryption meaningless.
    The actual real use of this in encryption is that you could instantly know if your encryption was compromised. So if terrorist get it up and running they could know if someone is on to them..

    And according to Koga, music is also good for the plants, which are invigorated by the constant musical vibes.

    Though I like this invention, I dont think its appropirate to say domething like this at this early stage.

    A genetic engineering study should be carried out:

    1) A large cluster of seeds A, and its clones, B should be planted.

    1)Repeat step 1 in a number of different locations under the exact same conditions.(or as close to as possible - measurement of ammonia and nitrates etc in the soil.. )

    2)A is treated with the musical resonance...
    B is not.

    3)Afterabout 10 years (or more) a large number of aesthetic appreciating people (botanists) vote to decide if A is hideous or not. If not, allow the technology to be used.....

    Yeah I use Outpost on my Windows OS (very rarely).
    I dont think they are talking about the fact that a reverse firewall would block outgoing traffic - rather that it would detect and prevent the type of outgong traffic of a spam / virus nature etc.
    This might give Microsoft ideas. Longhorn that prevents users on a LAN in work from sendin certain types of data. Hang on nothing new there either???

    ..And we already got that news days ago. In fact it was mentioned by someone in a thread yesterday. The game's not overly demanding which is good.
    Interestingly it will make for a nice benchmarking standard seem as its targeted for Linux too. Together with new versions of UT etc. I expect it to be part of the default measuring tape in the battle of performance gaming between Windows and Linux.
    By the way anyone interested in benchmarks for games on 64 bit O.S.' should check out this site. Apparently Suse is the way to go. Beats Fedora and XP 64 bit version overall, and by a long way in some areas, and enen in some games! Now get moving on those drivers nVidia and ATI, especially ATI...

    The survey is BS / joke in any case. You can't stereotype peoples listening habbits according to profession. Linux's userbase is a diverse one like developers / MS. and what about people who use all 3 ..
    Its meaningless. I use Linux and like Electronica, but I also like rock and I lkie development. I dont like Britney and dont like Windows, but I dont believe you can infer anything from that. I also like classical music, yet I have no management ambitions as such.

    Exactly, ID must have realized as I have that HL was not really that good a game - it just appealed to gamers sense of an alternate ego...
    Im sure Doom 3 will too.

    Also, this confirms for me that HL2 really will not live up to the hype. It won't be much better than Doom 3 if its even as good!!.

    I think Valve really missed that train. HL2 had the chance to be groundbreaking, but instead Doom 3 will. Watch out for HL2 and of course Stalker too. Especially Stalker, that could be an amazing game.

    I use Firebird and Im a fan of Mozilla but I think it get a disproportionate amount of coverage.
    I am a fan of OSS too..
    Mozilla will do just fine without such padding stories. And dont forget Opera.

    I hope so. Distributed computing is really what its about- people power. Not ego. Scientists throughout history have been afforde the time and luxury to resaearch on the back of the poor. This is not far from the truth today. In othere words, whatever way you split it - its about a community effort. Distributed ways are best..

    But about Gravitational waves. I believe an american, and former navy officer, Weber, tried to cath these with his imfamous Weber bar. I think his technique was sound but he found nothing - indicating that they are either rare or dont exist. In any case they're not important in my view. This is a waste of distributed computing. My google client works for the folding project, and Ive computed many SETI units too. Personally, I think the disease cure ones are good..
