Listen, the plane was going down. I took his money. I lost a backpack on the landing, so I just need to get that money back. You can keep the shirt.
Thanks,

Spoken like someone who knows nothing about marketing. One of the first things I was taught in my marketing classes is how that is a crock.
Bad publicity has bankrupted companies, people and countries. It's drove people to suicide. There IS bad publicity.
Spoken like someone who has not listened in marketing class.
Yes, bad publicity bankrupts companies. But how does no publicity being bad have anything to do with your comment and how did this crappy comment get modded insightful?
Lame.
How does your 2 card experience relate to the "failure rate in the teens" mentioned in the article? The Inquirer has NOT been talking about this like all of these cards are just waiting to die - they are talking about 15 in a hundred or so...
"Once again" a MS bashing post is made that says in just 19 months the Windows base will erode in the face of the mighty Linux. Get over it. It's not going to happen. Hardware makers like HP, DELL, and the like will continue to ship Windows - Vista specifically. Erode? In 19 months? Maybe.1%. Saying you think their game will be over by 2010 exposes your argument as nothing but troll.
Umm, except XP pro doesnt have Media Center Mr hat man. If you upgrade from mce 2004->2005 (or maybe it was '03) you maintain the "Pro" and can join a domain.
Ummm, yeah. 99 out of 100 rounds purchased at Walmart are used against people. Maybe 99/100 P2P downloads are less than pure, but you are so far from insightful it hurts.
I agree completely again, but with the additional peeves:
* marvin is far from pitiful visually and never portrays the sad caracter theat the book does
* the visual effects are so bad (Zaphod...)
* the guide is cheesy (though the naration true to form)
* Trillian. Nice to look at, but hacked into another role from the original story
I so loved the books, I was excited to add this to an experience that my 15 yr old son and I could enjoy like the LOTR series did from text to film. Unfortunately it fell below the midway point in expectations and the mention of sequels disgrace DA's grave if the same producer/director had anything to do with it. What a disapoinment.
They are being HIGHLY competitive by:
Buying up the game companies and sucking them dry.
Releasing hardware and taking a loss for years to gain market share (and take share from others).
Releasing platforms early to beat others to market.
Some would "bash" them for being "HIGHLY" competitive so that they may later achieve their legendary status as "anti competitive" in this market segment later.
I own an XBox. I also own Windows versions, and I sometimes do wonder what price I am paying for doing so.
Exactly what I thought when I read this post. I'm sure that the PR department really wants me to fear this. Claiming that it will be open in some vague way that might not really be open, has me sitting here uncertain and doubtful that this really is coffee. Looks like we're FUD.
As I understand the implementation in projects like Myth, the commercials are skipped by detecting blank frames - if it finds pairs that are 15/30/60 seconds apart - it jumps them. When recording, it does not remove the content of the skipped piece, in case there is a mistake made and you need to view what was skipped.
Probably not a great algorithm for the future, as this would obviously be easy to circumvent by the broadcaster.
dude! Do you have pictures? I will gladly sacrifice a few readme.txt's for some virgins... Grabbing another glass of the gatorade, or whatever, waiting for your response.
Pretty sure your priorites are straight. As is your tin foil hat across your brow.
I'll mod it for you, but I'm not doing it for free.
