i think its a fun idea. unfortunately i signed up under an email address that is now defunct and cannot update my info. i tried sending an email to them to get it sorted but no reply, maybe i'll hit them up again and see about it after the slashdotting subsides;-)
i'm still bitter about my 100$ amd 386dx purchase!
anyhow technology drops prices all the time.
we bought ours at 299$ (for the sole purpose of playing GTA3).... about a week later it dropped to 199.
i was livid. a bitch email to sony got me an 800 # to call and a free game from sony. the selection was thin, i picked the one i thought i'd like but it was iffy. the girlfriend liked it tho. so its not all bad.
At least three of the registrars I have dealt with (register.com, cheap-domainregistration.com, netsol.com) have shady domain locking practices. For my money, I've had positive experiences with GoDaddy Software.
i've used godaddy for several years now. mostly good experiences. their "lock" system didn't work right when they first implemented it and the almost obsessive compulsive urge to stick "buy this too" ads in the process of registering a domain is the bad bits. but in their defense, a quick email to support unlocked my domains, and shortly after the setup was fixed.
the ads & hard sell. eh. at the price i'll look past em.
How do companies survive so long after so many people actively loath them?
well because people keep buying their stuff. people are still buying RIAA-cartel cds and people are still buying some SCO stuff.
i used to work for a company that sold unix boxes. they sold SCO and AIX ones. i gather they were leaning to the AIX ones because of the service contracts IBM had on the servers. i wonder when the last SCO one they sold was? they still had some clients on SCO and bought updates i guess. i hope those clients switched to SCO, i know they were also looking into linux as an alternative to both.
i like kopete rather quite a bit. i have it on suse, the one that came with suse 0.6.2 i think was really buggy, bumped up to 0.7.2 i think and while not as crashy it still does. otherwise this is a well thought out client, and i'll be glad to see it as the kopete team works out the bugs!
when will disney exploit rembrandt?
hecks, why not classical music.
mozart?
bach?
oh wait they already do. use copyright/royalty free music, yet extend their copyrights, nice!!!
where will it end?
i haven't bought a cd since 96 or 97. boycott? no. theres nothing worth my 16-18$..... i don't even listen to the radio anymore, its all the same corporate schwill. though XM has some good stuff, dunno if i'll go that route yet.
yeah, my girlfriend called and her machine is resetting right after she goes online (dialup)
rpc errors and other stuff. its a mess
even did it after killing the msblast.exe process.... fun fun fun. gotta go read up more on this to figure out how to undo it.:(
ugggg, so i just saw one of the commercials on teevee, gawd.
the show the bottom rung people about how will they live.
but they don't say about the greedy corporates at the top of the pile, and the overpricing of the dvds.
of course they don't mention the overpaid A-list stars either......
when i was younger i went camping with a friend and took only beer as our "food" we got by mostly fine for a week. did want snacky-cakes and stuff but.... eh such is life.
the way i read it, it will popup the ad then the ad will take you to your page, i've seen these pages where you click on a link and rather than go to the content you have to watch a 15 second ad. i saw these at some gamer sites. i don't remember which because i stopped going as soon as i see that kinda crap.
well i put an audio compressor between my cable box and stereo. it levels off the volume, i have it set rather nicely and crazy eddie can holler away, it gets levelled off to normal levels. alesis makes a small 75$ compressor, i've seen them used on ebay for 30$. behringer makes 100$ ones that while not the best for music are good for this sort of purpose, samson too. feel like a little more theres the 200$ RNC (really nice compressor). my friend has one and uses it for music and loves it. eh.
this is too funny, i know this girl!
i saw the laptop a few weeks ago, in good working order, she told me about the case warping and said something to the extent of _titanium shouldn't warp_

i never look in the logs, so this prg pops up an alert... or emails. and i sure do check my email an awful lot more than the log files!
i found a freeware SMART monitor for windows
v es /active-smart-monitor-1.11.htm

installed it and it seems to work fine.
i've wondered about these bluetooth headsets, will they work with a PC that has a bluetooth base???
