    Maybe I can get a used Game Cube for cheap now and play Windwalker, before moving to Twilight Princess.

    Don't waste your time with a GameCube. Just hold out for a Wii and buy a WindWaker and a Waverbird controller. Get RE4 and Metroid Prime as well since they are both "bargain" games now.

    The only thing I would add to that is you need a GC controller and a possibly GC memory card if the game requires one to play GC games on the Wii. Not a problem for folks that already have the older system but it sounds like grandparent post does not.

    Zelda allows recalibration. You can set the size and location of the sensor bar as well as calibrate the accuracy of the Wiimote. It's in the Options menu when you press '2' in-game. I adjusted the sensor bar and it improved things greatly.

    Not at all. It's the standard motivation matrix: negative/positive + punishment/reward.

    Negative reward: take something away to encourage a behavior
    Positive reward: give someting to encourage a behavior
    Negative punishment: take something away to discourage a behavior
    Positive punishment: give something to discourage a behavior

    If I recall correctly, I believe most humans respond best to positive reward.

    If a DVD can provide 480i quality full length movies,

    DVDs are 480p. They are also 720 wide if they are "enhanced for widescreens".

    This is the reason EDTV plasmas make a great choice for folks like me that mostly watch DVDs. They are cheaper and their native resolutions corresponds to DVD.

    All of Pixars films have grossed well in excess of $100M. And that's only in the US. There is also the merchandise revenue to consider. I think $7.4B is not a bad price. And remember it's in stock.

    The 15"(1280 x 854) and 17"(1440 x 900) Powerbooks are widescreen.

    The state needs to start an aggressive Bat breeding program [batcon.org] to give the skeeter population a natural check besides insecticide.

    Not sure how the bats would do over our harsh winters but I like the idea. I've been trying to preach the bat house gospel to anyone who will listen.
