  1. Aside from griefers on Why Online Gaming Isn't As Fun As It Should Be · · Score: 1
Aside from the griefers......if the only people you play against are approximately equal in skill level with you, how are any of you going to ever get better?

I've played a lot of online games, and there will ALWAYS be someone better than you out there, often times many people. But whenever you see them do a new trick, or watch their response to something and be amazed at how effective it is, you learn something new that improves your skills.

While it may be annoying sometimes, like when you keep getting plugged by the one guy on the server with 50 kills and 0 deaths; other times you will be delighted as that new trick you learned helps you go from being the guy with 0 kills and 13 deaths, to the guy with 25 kills and 10 deaths.

These numbers don't mean anything in specific, I'm just saying....watching the people who are better than you is an excellent way to rate yourself in a game, and is itself possibly one of the best scoring systems ever devised.

You know......for as much as we all hate spammers......sometimes you just have to give them a LITTLE credit. It's pretty creative how this study was just published, and already they are incorporating it into their "service delivery plan". It's kind of funny how the RIAA won't change its business model over its dead body, and here the spammers are, adapting their business strategy to whatever they can to try to make money. Now granted, its not necessarily a good thing about how they do it....but it's rare to see such innovation in an industry.....if you could even call spamming an industry.

So Amazon will sell advertising space on this search engine, that's the whole point of the search engine. But what concerns me is if they will have negative reviews/information regarding placement that advertisers have paid for.

I know if I was paying for ad space on A9 and found a scathing review showing up right under the link to my product, I would be very pissed at Amazon and want them to take it off, because, hey, I'm paying for it. There is none of this with google...well.....except the whole Scientology deal but thats different. How will we know when Amazon isn't just giving a paid placement for the product, but is also giving false info/concealing the truth about a product?

God I wish they'd pick up that license.....or if not that....perhaps the Battletech license. That's a license that's just DYING for the uber-hollywood-effects type thing seen in the Matrix. It would be a regular street, in fact, best would be realistically modelled cities that you could drive around in any number of types of cars. From the car you drive now to an expensive car. And it would have realistic traffic.....but here's the kicker....

You could turn cops on and off. So you could do things you've ALWAYS wanted to do on your daily route to work for example, but never could because of the ramifications. I think it would be extremely popular in the cities that are realistically modelled in the game because it really connects you to the game.
