    Cromwell is a free Linux BIOS for Xbox - a hacked MS BIOS is not necessary to use a modchip. Stop trolling.

    100 is average by definition. The test determines your "mental age", which is divided by your real age and then multiplied by 100 to get a nice round number. Practically, anywhere from 90 to 110 is average due to variances in testing and all that jazz. This is according to my World Book Encyclopedia; The Wikipedia article makes no mention of this.

    I think IceWM is supported on Mandrake...so is enligtenment. Both of these are as of version 9 - I run Gentoo now, so I can't comment on Mandrake 10.

    When Windows marketshare has declined sufficiently, common Linux GUIs can say good bye to Windows and go their own ways.
    I thought you just said that users didn't want to have to relearn everything. How would decreased Windows marketshare change this?

    Is there a reason that they didn't add capital letters into the algorithm?
    Yeah, the more characters you check for, the more resources needed for the crack. (Apparently their algorithm uses gobs of memory instead of gobs of time)

    Um, actually, some gun laws work like that. If you're carrying an otherwise legal gun out in the open and somebody goes "eek! he has a gun!", apparently you're guilty of brandishing a firearm in public.

    Dude, a wanted individual is, well, wanted. If his NAME is incriminating (well, actually, his presence in a place), then he's done something wrong already , such as breaking parole or similar. If he hasn't done anything wrong, then giving out his name would not be "incriminating".

    Sounds like the shield technology in Dune, only the interaction between the shields and a "lasgun" triggers an explosion comparable to a nuke in both the shield and the gun. Therefore combat is hand-to-hand and they occasionally use poisoned weapons...

    If your distro has really good package management, (Gentoo, maybe Debian as well (haven't used it)? Personally, I don't like RPM) it's much more convenient than running Windows installers and uninstallers. For me it's just "emerge foo" and go.

    They probably haven't got grounds for those cease-and-desists, but I'm not sure that sending letters to people asking that they stop something is illegal. See the assertion in their manuals that backup copies are unnecessary and that violators will be prosecuted, though backups are clearly necessary over the long term.

    There is no copyright on "running code on hardware X", and the DMCA explicitly allows reverse engineering for purposes of interoperability. When you hear about modchip sellers getting busted, they're usually including hacked versions of copyrighted BIOSes with the chips, which IS a copyright violation.
