Why are electric vehicles considered zero emission?
Aside from the comments already posted regarding solar power, etc, this is cleaner even if you charged your vehicle with coal-derived power.
The smoke produced by polluting power plants is generally cleaned to hell and back with filters, electrostatic scrubbers, chemical and catalytic conversion, and many many other processes. These expensive cleaning methods are MUCH better at removing most harmful emissions than the cheap emissions controls on most cars. The end result pollution.
Allow me to augment this with anecdotal evidence:
I grew up in a small rural town sandwiched between two coal-fired power plants, each with 3 generating units. The air there was/is incredibly clean, and pollution was/is nonexistent. 120 miles away is a city much larger with no power plants nearby, but plenty of cars, and has visible pollution on most days.
The ~1800 MW of power generated by my hometown's generating stations is more than enough to power all of the cars of the city, if the city's cars are electric.
Moon does'nt have oxygen. Therefore this bomb will need to have its own oxygen system.
Umm, the vast majority of conventional munitions have their own oxidizing agent, with very few exceptions( such as the fuel-air bomb ).
If a substance's oxidation rate is dependent on its contact with atmospheric oxygen, it would be far more likely to "burn" than "explode".
The dust(?) created from this bomb will linger far longer than earth because of moon's gravity.
Another problem with your reasoning. The specific reason that dust "lingers" on earth is buoyant forces BY THE AIR upon very small dust particles. the moon's gravity well is smaller than that of the Earth, but the fact that F=ma will prevail without impedance by an atmosphere will make the "dust" settle rather quickly.

Well you can, but not with a lossy encoding scheme such as MP3. There are plenty of people out there, myself included, who simply do not like( or cannot even abide )the warbly sound of lossy compression, and would resist phasing out of high-resolution audio formats.
If anything will replace the CD, it will be SACD or DVD-A, not mp3.
Here, as always, is a case of several powerful, influential multinational corporations taking control of art from the hands of the people, where it belongs.
It is sad that such forces can take hold so easily in a nation on the verge of modernization. =(
The United Nations has been awarded the coveted "Most Irrelevant International Body" title. At the Appeaser awards, Kofi Annan said in his acceptance speech, "Thank you, thank you. I would like to thank all the little people, specifically the brutal collectivist dictatorships of the world, and France. I couldn't have done it without you guys."
I wouldn't be so quick to denigrate W( who, by the way, is actually "H jr", not "W jr" ), considering your mastery of the English language is about on par with his.
For that matter, why are you trying to do two completely different work loads and environments with the same kernel? You compile the kernel tuned to batch workloads for the server, and recompile the kernel tuned to interactive workloads for the desktop. You have the source.
Plenty of people, particularly java developers, like to run local instances of various servers on the same box they use as a workstation. This can often increase a developer's productivity in certain development environments for small-to-medium sized projects.
Don't think every user is exactly like you and has no need for the proposed change. Proposals such as this, and their subsequent implementation, are the primary strength of open source.

Come on, submitters, you can do better than that.
How, exactly? Underrepresented relative to their proportions in the general population, or relative to their proportions with inclination/education in mechanical engineering?
If the former, they are idiots. If the latter, good for them.
Applying one set of demographic standards to another domain entiely is ridiculous.
I think you misunderstand a few key elements of patent law. The USPTO's own act of issuing a patent in the first place creates a very high legal standard for anyone to pass; the courts has repeatedly held( whether corrctly or not )that the USPTO is a competent organization that *generally* issues valid patents.
In other words, the courts tend to assume at the beginning of ANY legal action that the USPTO issued the patent correctly. This places the burden of proof( and a very heavy burden, at that )on the hopeful patent-breaker to prove( more or less to the same standard of "reasonable doubt" in criminal law )that the patent's claims are invalid due to illegality or prior art.
Obviousness is a VERY difficult argument to win once a patent has been issued.
So in a nutshell, if the USPTO has already issued a patent, it's really damn hard to get it reversed. It takes lots of time, money, and a HELL of a lot of evidence and valid argumentation.

And if a movie were made starring the hypernova, our plucky protagonist would invariably say to his younger, more nimbile supernova partner:
"I'm getting too old for this shit."

Is that like some sort of exploit of the x86 processor's BX register?
If so, pretty creative name, I must say.

With John Turturo. This is the funniest movie ever produced, without a doubt.
How do you hire a movie?
Aren't there labor law issues involved in putting inanimate objects on payroll?
Then my all set?
Huh?
I must be missing something.
Compensated for writing bloatware ? Sweet, I want in.

How good could Zev possibly be?
790 turned gay on her !
Save Farscape!
Sikozu is TV's hottest alien. Without her, television would be devoid of all enjoyment. =(
Not as bad as being Moderated Troll for saying almost exactly the same thing( first, I might add )as something Moderated +5.
Welcome to Slashdot, I sure hope you didn't expect fairness.
delibretly ?

Methanol is not rubbing alcohol. Methanol == Wood Alcohol Isopropanol == Rubbing Alcohol FYI.

A bizarre experiment in soundless music has revealed how people's emotions are affected by noises they cannot hear...
No big deal.
My girlfriend's emotions are affected by things I never said.
Only 20 seconds? Have you ever actually used slashdot's search feature?
Maybe this guy just wants to name the asteroid "The John Galt" and use it to wipe out those evil collectivist moochers. =)
