  1. The didn't do enough research on the topic on Ethernet The Occasional Outsider · · Score: 1

The funny thing is that there is already a solution to their problem out there. Raptor Networks Technologies already has their ethernet switches in a bunch of places and have (so far) proven that their distributed network technology runs circles around Cisco's (and others) centralized architecture and costs even less. They could probably keep up with the needs of these data centers. I've spoken to guys who use their hardware and they all say 'wow.' This sounds like a perfect network for Raptor's hardware. Anyone else ran into it?

From what I understand, underage drinking is legal in the States too if a beverage is given to an underage child by it's parent. And this goes for in a resaturant (or other public place) as well. I haven't seen the law myself, but I've seen it done enough and it's been my experience as well (when I was underage).

Have you tried kefir? Many folks have had success, in fact Dom's Kefir in-site has a bit more in this as well. Yoghurt is technically pro-biotic, but it's effects are only temporary while Kefir can actually repopulate the mucosal lining of your GI tract with beneficial bacteria (which people often mistake yoghurt with doing) and many people have found kefir to help them in sundry ways. The only problem is that almost all store bought kefir is not made from scratch and therefore not nearly as potent as the home-made stuff. Give it a try, it couldn't hurt!

I actually acknowledge the convenience of Steam for some folks, but requiring Steam-based activation is abhorrent. While I am supportive of any company trying the counter piracy, there are limits to what they should require of customers. I know it's easy to sit here and complain without offering another solution, but it's not my job to come up with a solution that makes customers happy, it is the developer's/publisher's and they would be much better of if they were to work out a more sensible solution. I bought HL2 and I'll probably pay for the addon, but if there were a method that did not require Steam (and were legal) I would use it in a heartbeat. But it is really not all bad, when I reformatted my machine and reinstalled HL2, I only needed to reinstall Steam and Steam did the rest. Now I can play HL2 without the CD and without using a no-cd crack, so I have done nothing immoral/illegal. So it's in interesting blend of freedom and restriction, in my opinion.

This is exactly what happened to me, although it was at an electronics store locally, a big chain though (perhaps that's why they went out of business a few years ago?). Identical situation and I still tell the story because it really amazed me that such a thing could actually happen. Althought when I was a university student I used to sign my credit card receipts with a sperm-like design in the signature field. While most merchants didn't look twice, those that actually looked at the back of the card found, perhaps much to their surprise, the same sperm-like design in the cardholder signature field. Hey!... It matched!

And the less privacy we have as a society the more danger there is to those of us who can be victimized by an admittedly small group of crimminal offenders. I understand you reasoning but that's still no excuse for a police state (which, by the way, violates the very concept of freedom which our forefathers were trying to obtain when they left their respective countries). If you don't trust my children then it is your responsibility to keep *your* children away from *mine*. I pay taxes and have a right to send my children to public school (if i choose to) and it's ignorant to think that by video taping and tracking every child one can prevent bad things from happening. All it does is tell you who did it and where. We need to devise systems to educate our children properly, as well as others. So go ahead, spy on you own kids all you want (they will love you for it, I'm sure), but if you spy on mine I'm going to be taking you to court.
