They do state that it is only for non-commercial use. If I do recall correctly, Beyond TV (a commercial product) gathered TV listings from Zap2it. I wonder if Snapstream ruined it for everyone else?
I'm glad someone else caught this. Why the hell is the 770 being compared to PDA's and SmartPhones? Kind of like comparing Internet Explorer to Outlook...
China censors data to "protect" the government and people.
The US wants to read all your data to "protect" the government and people.
In China, you can be arrested for posting censored information.
In the US, you can be arrested for information posted in the past that is now deem criminal.
At least China is more up front with what will get you in trouble.
Yes, Yes, Yes!!! Unless the capabilities just are not there for the GBA cartridge to access the Wi-Fi, it would make so much more sense to use this empty space in my DS for hotspot browsing instead of fumbling for (or remembering) another DS card.
This will probably make it easy to have client side cheats run across your "Multiverse" too. All MMOGS are fun until the cheating gets out of control, wrecks the in-game economy and polarizes the XPS system.
What a load. Sony/RIAA went after the parents/grandparents of downloading children, holding them accountable for distributing "their" works. I think the same holds true here. Sony IS responsable for distributing something they didn't have the right to distribute.
I agree with your statements. Databases may be the next target. Google is creating an information empire and that looks like the next logical step. Imagine a ubiquitous database where online applications can use "G-SQL" to gather pertinent data that has already been collated from every available source about everything...
One HUGE problem with the Comcast DVR... You can't watch the recorded shows on the HD if the cable is out!!! We usually loose cable 3-4 times a year and sometimes it is out for a day or two. It sucks when you know the programs are there, right in front of you, but because of lowsy design, you cant watch them.
Think about how you hold these new controllers...
The Nintendo controller design was probably motivated by the position most teenage boys have their hands in when they are by themselves "playing videogames"!
The more I look at the new controllers, the more they remind me of the ones that came with Intellivision. Maybe its just the fact that they are long and thin like a TV remote.
And yet, the drug maker that supplied all these over priced pills to a single doctor in such a short time gets what? Fined? Prosecuted? No, they get richer! I love the US medical industry.
If the patrons are trashing the theater en masse then there is something larger at work. Usually it's the theaters fault for not employing enough people to clean between shows or foot the bill to keep up on maintenance. Maybe it's paying $20 for stale popcorn and a flat 22oz soft drink that is 1oz coke and 21oz of ice. I think you are seeing people express dissatisfaction at how the theater is being run.
Of course, I don't know where you live...but the theaters around me devide cleanly between the excellent and very clean to the lousy and rundown. In the latter, I am personally more inclined to leave my trash under the seat.
LOL!
I remember the last time I could get new release LD's from Ken Cranes - it wasn't too long ago. All my DVD buddies laughed at my 12" multi disc sets for one movie. I accepted all that fun loving teasing. Everyone blindly followed the DVD movement because it was so much better than LD. Well, I for one can tell you the worst two things I remember about LD was A>B (in the middle of a scene) and putting side three in. No region codes, no (horrable) compression, no encryption, no DRM, no unskipable parts...etc. Next time new technology is being offered, maybe we will all be a little wiser.
You really think Intel will build this PC? Re-read the links. Intel is attempting to inspire PC makers. It's the Emachines, Dell's, HP's... that will product the system. They will be the ones on defense against Apple.
Chomping at the bit is a reference to a horse biting down at the bridal bit in its mouth in anticipation to moving forward. Try to think before you reply.
...then Apple will sue it to death. Remember the eMachines eOne? Looked just like an iMac, but had the heart of the Intel inside. I'll bet Apples lawyers are all chomping the bit to be the first to repress this one too.
One would also think that if you lifted restrictions for local competition of cable that too would speed the adoption of digital. Look how long it took the FCC to agree that local channels could be broadcast on satilite providers. Maybe the FCC should promote free enterprise instead of limit fair use.
For the last three years I have had a series 1 Tivo and "upgraded" to the Comcast dual DVR for a few months. I can tell you that it completly sucks. The Comcast DVR has many, many problems that Tivo doesn't suffer with. For example:
-Accurate time. Comcast would drift over a minute. Tivo has never been off, in fact, Tivo is almost always dead on when a program starts.
-Repeat filter. Comcast would record the same show over and over (as many times as it was aired) like when the Sci Fi channel plays a new episode of BS:G 4+ times in a few days. Tivo can figure out repeats based on more factors than if TV Guide markes it as a repeat which is all Comcast keys off of.
-Wish lists. Tivo's biggest selling point is being able to place a search out in the todo list looking for some program you are interested in. This can be by keyword, actor, title - whole or part names can be used. Comcast gives you one of the worst searches imaginable.
-Availability. Even though you have programs recorded on the Comcast DVR, you can only watch them if your cable is working. One day we lost cable and power. Power was restored in a few hours, but cable was out for days. The whole time the Comcast DVR was unavailable...
There are more, but between Comcast DVR and Tivo, there is no compairson. Tivo wins hands down. Comcast will probably move DVR's because they will be cheaper, but they are definitly not better.

# chmod +h testfile123 chmod: invalid mode Not in 11i.
What about the sigs? I can't tell you how many times I have busted out laughing from some of the great sigs here.

Not to flame you or anything like that, but you should have used a semicolon instead of a comma after the word "grammar" in the fifth paragraph. ;-)

Not to play into this insane RFID paranoia any more than need be, but you can use a FilmShield to do the trick. They are lead lined and drive the airport scanners nuts... http://www.amazon.com/gp/search/ref=pd_sl_aw_tops- 1_photo_8714448_2/103-6943533-4911007?search-alias =photo&keywords=film%20shield/

Maybe we all should click the links in reverse popular order. That will show them.

I think "champing at the bit" is the euro/uk idiom. Here in the states it is called "chomping at the bit" to mean eger to do something.

I'm sorry, I hit my 30 second skip button... what did you say?
