    I believe it was proven (sorry I don't have the source...) that the most efficient base to compute with is e, or 2.718... Since that has no physical interpretation at this time (how do you have a fraction of a state?), the next best number to use is 3 (trinary), simply because that is closer to 2.718 than 2 (binary).

    In the Wizard of Oz, when the Scarecrow finally receives a diploma at the end of the movie, he blurts out:
    "The sum of the square roots of any two sides of an isosceles triangle is equal to the square root of the remaining side."
    NOPE! A correct statement would have been:
    "The square of the hypotenuse of a right triangle is equal to the sum of the squares of the other two sides."

    (They could have fixed this mistake digitally for the DVD release, one would think....)

    Reminds me of the song by Rush, written in 1981. The song is based on a short sci-fi story from the 70s, about the trend of auto-makers who keep sacrificing performance for supposed safety... (basically they predicted the advent of SUVs 25 years in advance).

    There is much to be said for a nimble vehicle that can stay in control to avoid crashes, as opposed to a dreadnought that's built to survive them (and put the occupants of the opposing vehicle at greater risk of injury or death).

    However, if your bank screws up and gives you free cash (broken ATM machine, teller's mistake, etc.), you are legally responsible for correcting the mistake. People have been in major trouble for not speaking up.

    Seems like conflicting standards to me.

    Probably true. Thousands manufacture's chisel design in circuit, Director Of Technology has no way to track these countless design pattern. Major problem is no way of Searching, that is unless MicroSoft uses APPLE spotlight.

    If some smart application of physical processes were developed instead - something based on a large and almost limitless power supply - would this not only benefit space endurance but also earth's environment, by reducing the need for harmful chemical production?

    Why are they creating an entirely seperate legal system to govern the internet? Theft is theft, libel is libel, and child porn is just that.

    There are ALREADY laws against criminal harassment, threats, and other crimes. Additionally, there are always civil options for suing over any damages you wish to claim. You only need to convince the court to agree with your case.

    The medium for these crimes ought make no difference. The logical processing of electrons should NOT be a "special case".
