On the other hands Oakley are more and more worn by people who want to look cool and hip, and need quite a bit help with that image.
This impression people have of Oakley really bothers me, because they clearly market themselves to lots of different kids of people. Yeah, they do make lots of strange looking stuff, but their prescription glasses are very understated, with very subtle branding. Same goes for their wire line, which are only flashy if you want them to be.
I won't argue, though, that the right pair of Oakleys do look cool. However, the weight, the lenses, and the durability make them really cool.
I would highly recommend their Wire line, particularly the Square Wire 2.0. They're not at all flashy like most of Oakley's stuff, but they still benefit from excellent lenses, durability, and barely noticeable weight. You could buy a really cheap pair, but the same sort of argument as Apple vs. Dell applies here.
Of course, if you're one to lose glasses frequently, maybe they're not worth it. I tend to take care of mine just cos I know I dropped a fair chunk of change on them. Still, I just recently lost my second pair in five years. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that they have since really improved the hinge design without changing the price. So there ya go... upgrades.
I find it very amusing that you're asking for advice concerning your 34" HDTV, and yet your sig says "Help out a poor college kid! [freeflatscreens.com]"
I must agree with you there. It's really amazing how long an SP can go without a charge with just the stock battery. I charge mine maybe once a week and it's done before I know it.
It's really a shame that Nintendo didn't use the SP design from the very start.. it would have really blown people away.
I must have missed it, but I guess Dynasty Warriors was announced for the DS at E3. Up till this point, that game was one of the few advantages the PSP had in my mind. However, the DS library is looking more and more attractive. Combined with their first-party line-up, it seems like Nintendo is poised to fight Sony tooth and nail. Whatever, though... It's about time we had some competition in the portable arena. Nintendo has gotten way too complacent with their Gameboy. It's a real shame we don't see more original titles from them on the GBA... the system's best years have been squandered away.
On a side note, if any GBA fans haven't checked out Superstar Saga yet, definately give it a shot. I am not an RPG fan, but this game is highly entertaining.
When the technology allows it, gamers will be able to play, say, a Madden game and, when they hear a song they like, they'll be able to press a button, download that song, and their account will be charged.
Or they could, of course, take advantage of the technology they have now in the Xbox and let gamers listen to any sort of music they enjoy.
BTW, something on/. is seriously screwing with Firefox.
'Look out Internet Explorer... your days have been numbered for some time now, but Firefox 1.0 will surely leave you shaking on your already shaky foundations and standing in a small warm puddle'. Nicely put.
Nicely put? Whatever. The writer seems so excited about his pun about Microsoft wetting itself that he ignored how awkward it sounds using the root word "shake" twice so quickly. He could have said "precarious position" instead of "shaky foundations," or even "trembling" instead of "shaking."
On topic: Microsoft has nothing to worry about from Firefox. Until Microsoft is forced to package Firefox along with Windows, as well as make it the default browser, the Mozilla crew will never catch up.
I know you're in Australia, but it may be worth giving the data plans from cell phone carriers the once-over again. Here in the States, carrier T-Mobile offers unlimited data access to their customers for $20 US a month. With a Bluetooth capable phone and laptop or PDA, this is pretty close to that "holy grail" of wireless. Granted, it's only dial-up speed, but anything to get rid of those wretched meters.
The one game I've always wanted to play for the TG16 is "Lords of Thunder," partially because I'm a big shooter fan, but mostly because of that really strange promo video they sent out for it. Anyone else remember it?
What the kind readers fail to know, however, is that poor MrRuslan has no legs. Therefore, from his perspective, it would be much easier to manipulate dozens of webcam images, gain root access on a NZ webserver, and write a script to regularly replace the new webcam image with a doctored one, than to, say, get on or off a boat.
Please, do excuse this momentary disregard for the healthy on MrRuslan's part.
Seems to be pretty accurate in predicting my 3 p.m. nap after my 4-6 a.m. sleep schedule. Too bad it can't tell me what time this afternoon I'll wake up after I go to bed now.
Man, Psychonauts. The premise of that game was so neat, the promise of playing it one day was one reason I got an XBox. Bastards. I seem to remember an article on IGN about it getting canned, but I can't find it now.
Hehe... they've been playing catch-up to CNN for the past couple weeks. Eventually all the pages on my link bar will have the exact same crap on them.

This story is a dupe. I stand by my opinions.
Judging by this thread, it seems like "citizen science" is about as popular as "Citizens on Patrol."

I believe, in this context, psychonaut refers to someone who explores inner space.

It's amazing, every time John Carmack sneezed it made it into /., but there isn't a story on the official release of Doom 3
That's cos everyone got it yesterday.

I adore Cyan's earlier project Spelunx. Exploring the caves of Professor Pseudo... anyone remember it? More importantly, anyone know where to get it?

If they could just smooth over the human rights people
As you can see, this is nothing new for China.

Slightly OT, but there used to be a kitchenware store here in Vegas called Lecter's.

Whoaaa, ten year lifecycle? Maybe that yearly update to the N-Gage might let it catch up.

I thought the double slit experiment was intended to show that light behaved as both a particle and a wave.
'Atomic storehouses, vulnerable to terrorist attack, will be emptied of their radioactive loads,'
Hmph, to put it where exactly?
I just bought a brand new, never been used copy of F-Zero GX for just $20. Seems like it's been about a year since it came out, too.
