Props to you on reminding me of Rise of The Triad.
I never played Castle Wolfenstein but remember that we got Rise of the Triad somehow on a CD. My dad said it was too violent for us but I snuck to the computer in the middle of the night to play it.
- Doesn't "believe in vaccinations"
- Or God
- Gives kids names from a random license plate, apparently not recognizing that it has a real meaning in Spanish
- Doesn't own a car.
- Got taken advantage of by someone with a profit motive (like many game programmers are by a studio)
In the end, all this added up to a guy who came up with a pretty unique game-concept, even though he essentially ripped off Minecraft.
Steam isn't anything special and Origin is similarly nothing special. Just another way to buy games (or apps) digitally. I have both and have bought games from both. Nothing special.
It makes sense for each publisher to have their own digital storefront and cut out the middleman.
Be a fan boy about games, not about, uhm, digital commerce distribution platforms.
Because they don't understand finance. They probably can't even pronounce it correctly (it's 'fih', not 'fEYE', and the accent is on the second syllable.)
strange. I'd like to make a template image and post this to a chan to see what other people fill out.
I share your esdf rather than wasd but use the space for jump, shift to crouch, right btn for alt-fire, wheel click for melee, mouse thumb button for grenades. (BC2).
So what you are saying is that consumers are too stupid to use judgement, to read reviews, to carefully consider what should be on the phone, and that Google should restrict their choices.
Maybe Google can come out with a special version of their OS - code named 'Obama' - and it will lock everything down and prevent you from freely installing whatever software you want.
Making the copyright permanent would create a greater incentive to create and would lower the cost for consumers by extending the time to earn back the investment and shifting the intersection of the price-demand curve down.
And do the same thing for drugs while you are at it.
Except this law applies to universities that are funded by the state. If a university employee doesn't want to have rules made by a democratic process, then he or she should work for a private institution.
For public institutions, this law only says that you can't deny someone tenure or employment based on their questioning of the predominant theory of the origin of species.
They need to add another law that prevents people from being denied tenure due to political beliefs in, say, an engineering department, which is quiet common.
'I had a lovely conversation with two young entrepreneurs from New York and when it was time to part ways, I used that old line: 'Here, let me give you my card.' They both paused, looking unsure about whether or not I was serious. Then I saw the understanding wash over them. I was speaking a forgotten language. A business card. How precious.'
Ah, no. The 'entrepreneurs' just didn't have their act together enough to get cards because they are really just unemployed people with an idea and some money from the 'rents.
They were the ones who walked away from that encounter embarrassed not to have cards to give him while looking terribly unprofessional.
In the long term, it is not Ray Casting or Ray tracing that will win out, but Ray Charles because you got the right one baby!
Easy solution.
Look up the best games from two years ago. Buy them for $10-20 on Steam or Origin or whatever.
I have been playing Bad Company 2 for a total time of maybe a few weeks. I bought it really cheap. Ditto with Portal.

Ah, the memories.

"making projects that are geek-centric, geek-powered, and just plain A-Z geek."
I'm as geek as the next guy but this seems as boring and outdated as hell. It's needlessly retro.

Your math would only be correct if it was issuing 100% of it's equity. It's probably issuing a tiny fraction.

You know, that bet worked really well for them with the Wii since the console sales beat up all the other consoles.

OHHH NOOOEEESSS
the trailer makes it look like a 10 year old game?
"We have also investigated rolling back suspect votes, however, we determined it will not be possible to do this. "
ORLY?
The problem is that when you travel, the WIFI often isn't free. Airports and hotels charge a lot of money. And there are places with no Wifi.
That's why I have a Android phone that can tether (unbenknownt ATT who is providing me with unlimited data for $12 a month).
It's like 4 tokens. WTF. I'd rather play four games of Tekken.

What about TAS?
I always appreciate software assessments from people never used the software.
Thanks.
Also, why does Slashdot ignore my first paragraph break? It has been doing this ever since I joined the site.
That was my first and I wouldn't mind seeing that get re-released.
Also, being pregnant is a flawless way to prevent additional pregnancy.

This is a time-old tactic that goes back to the founding of this country (the Founders published tracts and newspapers, etc.)
Besides, even if you find it distasteful, our enemies use of the same tactic necessitates that we use it as well.
