Another game which I enjoyed THOROUGHLY that is not of the genre you speak was Birth of the Federation. It has bugs but as a 4x game was probably the most fun I ever played. It was in the Star trek universe and had all of the characters, ships, and destinations. And I've never seen a 4x game with the Borg-style element done so well.

Galactic Civilizations has some cool elements, but it lacks the artistic style and coolness and, in some ways, the intelligence of BOTF.

Innovative in the story. I found the one where you had to go into the artist's painting particularly fascinating, along with the one where you have to go into the Dreamworld to rescue the mage.

The most haunting one was the Fighter's guild storyline regarding the Blackwood Guard. Yikes.

I think you might be more satisfied with Massive Effect. Check it out.

That the FSF has made a joint bid suggests it is moving from the open market environment to a charity or a political cause.

Let that be a lesson to you.

The purpose of a company is to enrich it's investors by satisfying consumers. I suppose you don't see a difference between being in a North Korean prison and two companies entering into a particular liscencing deal voluntarily (the former being an injustice to man and the last one being, well, not really any of your businses), but it's because Bell Labs followed YOUR recommendation and didn't behave like MS did that they are toast.

Even the Open Source developers have their own ways to make their investors rich through support contracts. Try to go on the forum of an open source project selling support contracts and offer $100 for someone to solve your problem - then see how long before that post gets pulled.

What is particularly mind-boggling about Sony is that they continue to spend money advertising on Television to sell a console you cannot buy and a console that will require no advertising-induced desires to be able to sell any that Sony can manage to get on the shelves.

Plus, a 30 game attach rate to break even? That is mind-boggling and cannot be possible. Sony could not be that stupid.
