I think there should be in existence somewhere on the planet an organization that does what NASA does. However, I think it would be difficult to get sufficient funding from the private sector to fund certain NASA projects such as the James Webb Space telescope (JWST). Do you see anyone in the private sector offering to buy up the JWST project at a reasonable price if NASA abandones it and were to offer it for sale? If you think it is important to get answers to questions surrounding the history of the universe, and there is not enough support from the private sector to make that heppen, then government can do it. I'm generally in favor of small government except when it comes to things like certain NASA projects and protecting the environment.
We spend trillion+ dollars per year on entitlements to people who don't work, and financing unjust foreign wars, yet we cannot afford to spend a few billion to complete the tool that will allow us to better understand the history of the universe? Come on... End the wars, cut off the entitlements, gradually shrink government to 75% of its current size, give all the money back to the taxpayer, and most importantly, end the Federal Reserve system which is a tax on anyone who holds wealth in dollars.
Funding the James Webb project creates jobs for scientists and engineers -- the real people behind progress -- who create new technologies to improve everyones lives. This goes to show just how dumb the Obama administration and Congress can be. Ron Paul 2012.
What do you think our current fiat money system is? That's right, one big pyramid scheme. The Federal Reserve Bank creates money out of nothing at essentially zero cost, and then LOANS it to the government. The only reason why people want Federal Reserve Notes is because everyone else wants them. At least with bitcoin there is a real cost associated with creating bitcoins -- you have to pay for the electricity used to mine them. So in that one sense, bitcoin is superior to federal reserve notes (or any other debt based currency). Also Bitcoin is not a debt based currency, so it doesn't have a problem by design with inflation. If anything Bitcoin should eventualy have a problem with deflation, since there is a upper limit to the number of bitcoins that will ever be created.

Man... The TSA folks need to get laid off so that they can lay off us all. If people want to feel 100% safe about flying then they should just not fly.
Simple. The value is determined by the quantity. If the value starts to decrease, stop printing. If the value increases, print. Even a simple bang-bang controller would do the trick, or if you wanted to get a little fancier, just use a PID loop. To decrease the amount of currency in the system, they could just tax a little bit.
The hand that giveth is above the hand that receiveth. If the government gets its money from the bank, then the bank is in control.
Iceland's constitution should ensure that only the government has the right to issue the Icelandic currency and that currency must be debt free!
If Iceland does that, and they keep the amount of currency under control so that there is no deflation or inflation, then everyone will flock to their currency and they will be rich.
Exactly! Mod parent up. This just gives our President the ability to wage war on anyone he wants, without Congressional approval. Oh wait, he's been doing that for years!
Exactly. Mod parent up. If the government needs more money to operate maybe it should consider issuing its own currency rather than borrowing it at interest from the Fed and taxing it away from citizens through taxes like the proposed mileage tax. The government needs to get trimmed back in a huge way. The role of federal government should be:
Protect our liberties
Protect the environment
Issue currency
Minimize corruption in government
The state governments role should be to maintaining infrastructure and provide public education. Thats pretty much it!
We need to repeal all laws that don't do the above and that just restrict our agency and cost money to enforce.
If they want more money, they should print it themselves INTEREST FREE instead of borrowing it from the privately held Federal Reserve bank. We're paying at least 60 billion dollars annually just to pay the interest on the dollars that the Federal Reserve Bank fraudsters created out of THIN AIR. The government could issue its own currency for much less than 60 billion per year.
They should also reduce the budget for the military and entitlement programs by about 70%. That would solve the problem. It needs to be done gradually though to allow the private sector to move away from making weapons for military conquest to making other stuff.
Section 9:
"No Tax or Duty shall be laid on Articles exported from any State."
Are these taxes Texas wants to collect on stuff that Amazon exported to another state?
Outrageous. This video makes me angry and I'm not even an Egyptian. Why did that sniper take out that harmless Egyptian civilian? Because he was throwing rocks from 200 yards away? That civilian was not a threat. Those police were carrying shields that could easily block thrown rocks.
People must have the right to communicate freely, bear arms, armor, and gas masks. I'm an American and I'm really glad we have the right to bear arms to protect ourselves from an invading force domestic or foreign. Time to go spend $500 on a class 3 bullet proof vest and $200 on a gas mask for when the SHTF in America do to melt up.
2. RIAA then starts requiring companies who legally distribute RIAA music online, to do it only through a *.music domain.
3. RIAA can then be sure that any RIAA music offered for download from any other TLD (such as.com,.net, etc) is being distributed illegally.
4. RIAA can now more easily identify people who share their music in a way they don't like. You know those people -- there are millions of them and they're just as bad as those Somalis who attack ships with AKs and RPGs.
That would put more parasite IP lawyers out of a job, and free up money to hire people who actually make stuff like scientists, engineers, and technicians.
People who undermine big banks end up dead. Abraham Lincoln was assassinated -- he introduced the Greenback (debt free currency). Andrew Jackson, who was also opposed to a national bank (i.e. like what we have now -- the Federal Reserve Bank), was almost assassinated but both of Richard Lawrence's pistols misfired.
I admire Julian Assange for courageously proclaiming the truth despite putting himself at great risk...
We have some activist neighbors here in Ithaca, NY. They put out a sign in their front yard for motorists to see. It says, "Have you heard about Bush's new novel?"
Most bikes don't have batteries to power the GPS receiver+transmitter. I doubt they could hide an antenna on your bicycle where you wouldn't see it.
Oh yeah, don't use a cell phone that is registered in your name. You can also freeload off open wireless networks and use a VoIP app for your voice calls.
I wonder how long it will be before U.S. Citizens are all required to get RFID tags inserted into their bodies. That will prolly happen after terrorists successfully detonate a nuke inside a major U.S. city.
Will someone please tell me which of our elected US representatives plan to sign this? I want to know so that I will never vote for them and so that I can encourage all my friends and family to never vote for them.
If all ISPs are required to obey the same law, then no single ISP has to worry about losing customers. This is because customers won't have any other ISP they could run to that wouldn't also have a financial incentive to report them to the MPAA/RIAA. So basically UK people are screwed unless they setup their own wireless or laser link that transmits stuff directly to France/Ireland/other country within range (Sealand?) that isn't bound by UK law.
nuff said.

Dollars are Federal Reserve Notes, created out of thin air by the private Federal Reserve Bank, not the U.S. Government.

Problem solved. People need control over their own privacy. Tough luck Digital Forensic folks.
Solution: Don't copy any data to an SSD unless you're copying it into an encrypted volume.
