    Yes, and there's not a damn thing spooky about it. It's actually quite useful. I found a short piece of code I wrote this way. I'd lost it in a crash and thought it was gone forever. I'd posted it to a Python newsgroup and it was still on there.

    If I buy an OEM product from a manufacturer that has licensed the patent to put in my own product (Apple buying a Samsung LCD for their Cinema Displays), why do I have to seperately license the technology?

    The AES was never intended to sell well. It was a niche console for people that wanted arcade games in their living room, and did DAMN good for what it is.

    Just FYI, the carts were that expensive not because of the cost of ROM, but the cost of RAM. The console itself didn't have any video memory. It was all kept on the cartridges. This is how games like Garou were able to fit so much animation onto the Neo. They were able to use as much memory as they needed. Too bad it shot the price of games up over $300 at times...
