I think they make great MiniDisc players. Their video game stuff is fantastic. They are a HUGE company to the point where it's almost half a dozen smaller companies that happen to use the same name. So they are better at some things than others, who cares? They make a lot of GOOD stuff. If they made clothes I'd wear them. If they made food I'd eat it. If they rented apartments I'd live in one. I am Sony's corporate slave!!
The "S" type controllers that I saw were still quite unwieldy compared to the PS2 controllers or the Gamecube controllers. The size decrease was significant from the original X box controller but still not enough for the average Japanese gamer to be comfortable using them for long periods of time. And notice I did say it's only one reason. So don't go trying to misconstrue me as claiming the xbox isn't selling solely because of the controller size.
Personally I would expect the PS3 in 2006, maybe 2005 if Microsoft release their nextgen Xbox sooner than expected. The PS2 hasn't really hit its stride yet with development and the full potential of the system has only been realized on a small handful of games. I think we'll be seeing some spectacular titles comeing out on the PS2 towards the end of 2003 and all of 2004.
You are correct. Nintendo has halfway surrendered the US market to Sony. Sony cares a lot more about what the US buyers think that Nintendo does. Part of that reason is that Nintendo has been gaining marketshare over Sony in Japan. So while Sony still sells a LOT of consoles in Japan their big market is starting to be more and more the US, whereas Nintendo cares fuckall for the US because they make most of their money on Japan now. They know a decent portion of people in the US will buy their stuff if they design it to get the most marketshare in Japan. And even if the launch fails in the US, Japan will still snap it up.
Primary market for Nintendo is Japan. People in Japan like incredibly tiny electronics. Their cellphones are not much bigger than my credit card. So I imagine Nintendo cares fuckall for whether you think the thing is too small or not. One of the reasons the Xbox is losing money so badly is that the controllers are too big for the Japanese market. The Japanese gaming market makes or breaks systems. Period.
So wait a minute, I have to pay the telco for my connection, the site for their bandwidth, and I have to pay for the bandwidth the Advertisers take up with popup ads and banners too? I don't even WANT to see the ads! They can't force me to look at something and then charge me for it!
So saying, "I think putting a big turbine here and blowing lots of wind REALLY hard at the hurricance will move it." and then doing it and haveing it work/not work is not science to you? What if you do it 100 times and compare your observations? Is that enough for you to consider it science? All an experiment is is observation of a phenomenon after you have altered the conditions.
Yeah. You can be as stupid as you want to be with your money up until you start blaming me for your stupidity. Once you make it the SysAdmin's problem by complaining about it to them you've given up your control over the system.
Mules do translate well. Third party pickups. If 2 people are never able to meet face to face, but both have the opportunity at different times to meet the Mule, then transfers of money and items can take place. Also, there may be people in the network that aren't involved in the actual terrorism, they just hold caches of supplies/weapons/money and that's all.
I'm damn near certain that in the original limited run of Cowboy Bebop in 1998 or 1999 it was shown in the afternoons. I remember watching it in fact. And I remember specifically the scene where Spike and Jet are leaning on the railing of a bridge and Spike has a toothpick in his mouth and smoke is coming from it. Where in the DVD it's an actual cigarette. And yes, I'm talking about CBB, the original poster was talking about Cartoon Network edits and I was curious.
Does cartoon network still have Spike smoking tooth picks? In the original run (When they ran it at 3pm or thereabouts) a few years ago they editted out all of the cigarettes and replaced them with tooth picks. But they didn't edit out the smoke. So there were about 2 dozen shots of spike standing around with a flaming toothpick in his mouth....
Slow down there... The first game I bought for my PS2 was Tekken 4. I greatly enjoy GTA3, and I enjoy a bloody decapitation just as much as the next guy. But can you honestly tell me that Mario Kart was not FUN?! You didn't like Zelda at all? I'm not saying that violent games aren't or can't be fun. I'm saying that they target a smaller section of the population than most Nintendo games.
Children's games? I think not! Miyamoto creates GOOD games. HE focuses on playability and FUN. His games don't involve decaptiations, sex, nasty violent episodes, crime sprees, or insane murders. They are for playing and having fun. And he does it VERY VERY well. People of all ages enjoy his games, he is actually targetting a much larger demographic than most people who produce "mature" games. He makes games that you can sit down and play with your dad, and your 8 year old cousin, and all of you will have fun playing it.

Who is Benford? What did they write? Judging from the list I might be acutely interesting in picking up some of his/her works.

And you'll notice now that the story comment is changed, no notice of an update or that it's anything other than the original statement.
