Just do like a lot of other websites do.
Insert a 30 second commercial that you can't skip through (like you use to be able to), before you
allow the video to play.
Good for Shell! They made a BUSINESS decision! It is NOT GOOD BUSINESS practice to "invest" in something that DOES NOT WORK. Wind & solar are (at this time) cost prohibitive! If/when the day comes where it is more efficient to produce wind/solar power, you will see the energy companies jump on it.
Same thing with these stupid "hybrid" cars. They are more expensive, use "more energy" to produce than a regular car.
Any jury I've ever been asked to serve on...the judge makes one thing clear. DO NOT DISCUSS this with anyone. I would think if he did post something on twitter, he violated the rules handed down by the judge. I don't buy the "I posted but didn't read any responses" argument. That's like someone saying I smoked pot but didn't inhale.
Typical politicians......CORRUPT. Time for another revolution in this country to take back the government, which has grown out of control. Between politicians, who think they are above the law, and lobbyist who think they can tell politicians what to do by flashing $$$$, we need TERM LIMITS on ALL government politicians. If term limits are good enough for the president, they should be good enough for legislators. The founding fathers NEVER wanted politicians to be a "lifetime" job.
When you have these idiots, who "make" the laws, write themselves out of the laws they want the rest of us to live by, then it is time to blow the whole place up, and start from scratch!
the iphone is a toy, not a business tool. Yes, it is a fantastic device for MP3's & video, but I prefer a WM device, where I can run outlook, word, excel, which I do daily. It's a personal taste thing...I use my phone for business, most iPhone users are caught up in they hype...the follow the Jones' attitude. "I got an iphone...why? Because everyone else has one". Reminds me of the Razr when it first came out.
Sounds like you are my age....will you agree that those old tube stereos had a certain charm about them?
My first "aftermarket" car thingy was an old pioneer underdash 8 track stereo, with a WHOPPING 4 watts per channel fed into two 8x9 coaxial speakers.
When you have nothing at your disposal (ie: guns or similar), and those that employ you (ie: government) have all the power, how are they to "rise up" against their overlords?
THIS scares me more than anything...
"create a 'gated community' where users would give up their anonymity and certain freedoms in return for safety"
Oh yeah right....leave "safety" in charge of some government idiots, or the UN...no thanks!
I blame the (lack of) education system in the USA for the reason why people think we live in a democracy. If people would go back and read the writings of the founding fathers (the federalist papers), they would get a clear understanding of why they designed our laws the way they did. They were extremely worried about having a "king", mob rule (a pure democracy), and what ever the political whim of the day was. By having an electoral college, EACH state would have an equal chance during an election. Without an electoral college, the candidates would only spend time in the states with large populations.
I would really wish we could go back to the way it was. The people for for the U.S. Congress (which is why it is called the peoples house).
The state legislatures vote for the U.S. Senators, which is why it is called the states house. Then, the U.S. senators would "appoint" the president of the United States.
When politicians figured out they could vote themselves a raise (by NOT voting for it, they automatically get it), and knowing how politically inept the public is, it is no wonder why we have "career" polticians that act the way they do.
Can I run all the applications I'm forced to use during the day on Ubuntu? I live in a windows application world. When you can EASILY configure and setup a desktop so a "dumb user" can use it, then I might look at it.
Same here....I'm "only" off around 12K, but still hurts! Take off the tin foil hats, fire up the LHC, and lets party til the thing swallows up the earth!
I've had it on my work laptop since March 08.....I run office, photoshop, couple of custom apps. No issues, no blue screens. I put Win7 on a new hard drive, same laptop, it runs as fast or fast than Vista. It should only get better, as they tweak the code. Only thing that doesn't run (obviously) is spybot, sanboxie, & window blinds.
This is exactly what is wrong with the patent process. You have a "company" of only FIVE people, who could potentially stop any technology that might "infringe" on these obscure patents.
I bet old BHO won't be using this to spy on people he doesn't like...LOL...just like ole Bill Clinton did. Amazing the timing of this...held up while Bush was in office, but now its ok...just in time for BHO to use it.
I've got 3 HDD's for my work laptop.
Dell E1505, 2 gig ram, HDD's different sizes, but,
all same 7200rpm, 8meg cache, very close spin up,
transfer rates etc...
XP goes ok
Vista/SP1, just a smidge faster than XP
Win7 build 7000, smokes! I've noticed a better load time for Office 07, Photoshop, and other programs.
Will be nice to see another build, RC candidate etc.
When I installed XP, had to install a bunch of stuff to get everything detected (WinXP w/sp2 CD)
When I installed Vista...well...never mind
When I installed Win7, it caught everything except the video card & the SD card.
I'm using it as my "daily" work box (with the back up drives in my bag...just in case.
Same argument was made when they "turned off" analog. More users are switching to 3G devices...and the bandwith being used is making 2G a thing of the past. It's just business. If people don't like the fact they are being tuned out, then switch carriers.
Had a 60gig lappy drive laying around, installed 7, build 7000 on a Dell Inspiron E1505 2 gig ram, X1400 video. Win 7 didn't pick up the video, SD card or sound card. After installing the vid drives (no reboot), SD card drivers (no reboot), and the sound card drivers (no reboot), then rebooting, everything was picked up, no yellow (!) bangs in the device manager. I've been using Vista for well over a year on this laptop...even the beta was as fast, or seemed as fast or faster than Vista(SP1). I suppose when they tighten the code, it will only get better.
One nice thing is that you don't have to shut down UAC...it pretty much stays out of the way.
Just do like a lot of other websites do. Insert a 30 second commercial that you can't skip through (like you use to be able to), before you allow the video to play.
I'll be you the Japanese don't have to put up with the mountains of red tape that you do in the USA either!
Anyone that thinks NASA will pick the idiot from the Comedy channel is sorely mistaken.

That took 17 years to release, millions to produce, especially something that a nut case like Axel Rose, can't be worth a plug nickel.
Shouldn't that be alligators? I thought crocs were in South America, and alligators were in Florida?

If they start blasting commercials like they do on "free" radio, I'll be one of the first to cancel.

I hope they figure something out, because I for one, do not want to go back to "commercial" radio where you have more commercials than music.

If you are on a "bandwith cap" ISP. Watching a few of these might put you over the limit ;)
