    Yep, most of us get pissed off now and then, and even resort to "strong" language. I look at people who use "motherfucker" for every other word as unintelligent (I am going to point to the prisoners from some NJ state pen that try to get gets to straighten out before they end up among their population and notice this fact). If he is really so smart, he should find other more useful words than "fuck".

    I would only buy Q3 for one reason... Cause I have been playing Q1 since its release. My Q1CTF clan has been around for over 3 years and is still playing...

    We appreciate all the work that has been done on this game. It is one of a kind. I never have known a computer game to last this long anywhere...

    Q1 is just incredible, Q2 wasn't so incredible, and I really don't like the looks of Q3CTF so I may never switch. The thought of not having a grapple in CTF is ridiculous, but who am I to say?

    while you are all worried about rising RAM prices, I am worried about the rising possibility that the Biblical end of the world is approaching.. I am an agnostic, and I really don't believe anything that the Bible says, but when they start talking about all these natural disasters, and I constantly see earthquakes, new faults (in CA), etc, I begin to shit my pants...

    just that he has this perception of himself as someone who can change things for the better.

    he is *trying* but I think in a futile attempt. Look at the rescent article about Activisions opening up their source to a group of programmers so that they could improve on it. Their *own* programmers didn't do a great job, and outsiders were able to improve on it. Microsoft really needs to move into the Open Source movement and allow other people to improve it. It isn't going to get better until he realizes that Open Source isn't communism and will help his financial situation...

    they should really check my dorm room. I am beginning to think that we have a fire hazzard in here. two TV's, a VCR, a stereo hooked to the VCR for the TV, two Nakamichi tape decks and a Pioneer reciever (for my Grateful Dead stuff heh), another stereo, three computers (two w/monitors), two printers, a DVD player, a minidisc player, and ethernet cables running everywhere... normally this wouldn't be alot. But in a room the size of my bathroom at home, hhe, it is :)

    its affect was something similar to what I got when I read this... My brain started spinning and I had to sit down heeh, problem with today was, I was sober...

    IMHO WinCE is already losing. It isn't like WinCE is capturing more of the market. Everyone likes the PalmOS, and now that more companies are seeing that it is the direction to go (and some even dropped their WinCE handhelds) we may see a continuing trend in this area. We can always hope at least.

    OS/2 was and *is* a great OS. I believe that Linux is a lot like OS/2. A lot of free software, a lot of community style backing. I really just hope that it doesn't fall to the same fate that OS/2 did. Linux has all of the same great attributes: stable, fast, and overall better, but can it stand up to the evil do'ers?

    funny thing is that you wouldn't accept a gift from just anyone on the street w/o being really cautious about opening it... why would you accept one from some stranger on the Internet?

    I have a dual 400 system setup, but I am not overclocking it... It seems that I have enough problems as it is... Every four days it crashes. Just locks up tight on whatever it is doing and halts. No idea why, it just does.

    It is fast, but it pisses me off... What can you do eh?

    well, I think yes. The only reason that people buy AMD is so that they can get relatively the same speed chip for a much lower price. They run the *same* programs, not *different* ones that their new 64bit will run. I really can't see developers *or* users wanting to buy a chip like this. The Macintosh may have been a better design, but who supported it, and where are they now?

    the article says that it is only good for intercepting one incoming rocket, and that is only used normally by rogue governments or terrorists. Yeah, the terrorists often do more damage than forgeign governments, but *I* am more scared of say China launching multiple rockets at us and us not being able to block em.

    I was rather surprised and delighted to find that the ISP I moved to this summer (for DSL) was willing to help w/Linux. Although they don't say that they support it, they put someone on the phone that actually knew what the hell I was talking about. My problems turned out to be a miscommunication having to do w/the HW addy of the netcard, but at least I had them saying "check ifconfig" instead of winipcfg :)

    Go for epix.net if you want a good Linux friendly ISP in PA :)

    I remember a bit back when PA was requiring everyone applying for a fishing license to give them their SSN. The State was looking for deadbeat fathers this way.

    What would happen if they actually caught one, and he learned that is was from his SSN #. I would sue the place that asked me for my SSN in the first place. You aren't allowed to ask for it for anything but money transfers I thought...

    Kinda would be an interesting trial.

    If you must run a network with authentication+encryption, look elsewhere, like Coda+Kerberos.

    ahh, but if you are using any boxen w/Alphalinux on it, you may run into compilation problems (I have). It compiles *FINE* on i386, but not on Alpha... Just a note..
