Quebec does have special rules and regulations, but mainly the problem with contests is that there is a FEE to be paid to the province in order to have a contest. Yes that's right, if you want to include Quebec in a contest, you must first pay up, something about a fee to make sure the contest is not bogus... to protect the consumer or something like that I seem to recall.
I find the price tag of $299 VERY good, considering what your getting for that price. Also $299 was in the low range of prices that have been circulating the web (highest being $599)
Too easy, but it was very fun, I remember having done a VHS recording of me beating the game without dying, start to finish.
I remember the gore when you killed the boss in the helicopter (was it a helocopter?), you were able to see an eyeball pop out of his head.
Joss has a real talent for writing amazing scripts and making characters memorable. Buffy was amazing, so was Angel, and the little bit I have seen of Firefly, I liked. Characters like Willow, Spike, Darla, Drusilla will live on forever, great writing is key, and Joss is a master.
I have faith in Joss to make this a good movie, safe to say, way better than Catwoman
I've been playing DaoC for close to 3 years, almost since it launched. When I was out of work I was playing easily 12 hours a day, and while working maybe 5 hours a day, MUCH more on weekends. I would be at work, WANTING to play, so yes... I was addicted.
Well, maybe 'was' is not the right word, I still am, but I have notcied that I have been playing less lately, down to about 2-3 hours a night, and I take more breaks to go other things (visit friends/family, photgraphy, movies, etc).
On DaoC I see people that are on easily 15 hours+ a day, it is addictive, more so than normal games I would say.
But as I saw someone else point out as well, Television is another huge time sink that people are addicted to. My father will watch easily 10 hours of TV a day, even when he whines that there is nothing good on. Go figure that one out, at least people playing MMORPG's are normally having fun:)
Guess that just means I wait for that revision, I'm sorry Sony, but batteries need to last for the trip to work, and then the trip back from work (or school for you youngins..).
Guess I'll stick with an Ereader or something or a Palm Z31 and read PDF's instead, I'll learn more:)
The joystick was awful, I always found it hard to use and that it lacked buttons (only has 1). The paddle however was cool.
But if you wanted some nice controllers, Coleco had them, the wheel and the pedals rocked, the super sized controllers for the sports games were great (although I kept getting blisters with them) with the little roller, the 4 buttons, and when you used it, it looked like a killer glove to hit someone with, not that I ever did, mind you:)
First Buffy....now Angel. Those were honestly the only 2 shows I have been watching the past 3-4 years. My TV only gets turned on Wednesday night to watch Angel or to pop in a DVD.
Guess this means I can finally cancel my cable cause there is nothing else on TV that seemed as well written and so well held together with past plots than these 2 shows.
When I got my first CD-R, blanks were 10$ EACH!! It REALLY hurt when you had a coaster.
Now blank DVD's are getting cheaper, I just picked up a spindle of 25 DVD+RW's for 40$ Canadian, used to 80$ not on sale.
MS really screwed the pooch with AC2. Sure AC2 was nicer, but it was DULL. Also I dont really see the need to make a sequel to a MMORPG, I mean DaoC has the right idea, update the graphics with expansion packs.
Why make a sequeal that will possibly split the popuataion across 2 games? Expansions hurt the old areas by making people that have the expansion go there less often, but it's still not as bad as 2 seperate game worlds.
Man so true, I started Dark age of Camelot 2 years ago and I still cant let go, its consuming sooo much of my time. It made me realize what exactly the term EverCrack means.
Good games for kids would be : NHL 2004 and I guess the new Prince of Persia
I played lots of Quake2 mods, Action Quake2 being my favorite. Personally I didn't like the Half-Life net code when the game first came out but I heard that it got much better, but by that time I had dropped the game and moved on to something else.
Games with mods do seem to have a much longer life than non-mod games, look at Tribes, Unreal Tournament, Battlefield 1942, Neverwinter Nights (which LIVES off of the mod concept), heck, even games not designed to be modded (Silent Hunter 2) have had mods done by very creative and dedicated fans.
Allowing people to make their own maps is not enough, let them play with the engine, the graphics, the models, the scripting, it pleases the fans and makes them come back for a sequel. Its been proven lots of times, heck, people still play QUAKE1 because of the mods!
Thanks to royalties on the.GIF format after years of being royalty free, the.JPEG REALLY, and I mean REALLY took off, plus PNG came about as well. Lots of programs dropped.GIf support completely and I didn't blame them. Maybe this will make another standard take precedence on new camera's and flash devices, $250k is a HUGE price to pay for a little startup trying to push a new product
maybe if more companies get hit by these things, more BIG companies, more pressure might be applied to help solve the problem, more tougher laws? Higher fines?
And it has to be more than the USA that makes these laws, we need Asia and Europe to follow and nail these people.
So glad to hear about this. This, along with Buffy and Angel made up my week's worth of television, now I am down to only Angel (although this season is GREAT so far imho).
I was not bashing, just VERY surprised at the look and feel of the site. I personally would have put some effort to make it look different.
If I had not known I was looking at a Microsoft news site, I would have said "oh look, Google changed the look a bit", THAT'S how similar they look, and I don't like that.
Anyone else notice this? Almost same layout, the time generated at the top right, the menu on the left.
step 1. Find good site/idea
step 2. COPY AND PASTE
step 3. ????
step 4. profit

not really since all phone companies HAVE a cell phone division, at least it's like that in Canada as far as I know.
Yes but whenever Microsoft tries to add features, they get blasted by the MONOPOLY and UNFAIR PRACTICE police.
there are no adds on news.google.com, at least none that I see.

Who cares, the fat lady has sung, it SHOULD be over.

you won't need to, you'll be drafted....
Oh well..time to read the article.

Angel will be missed. Please pick it up UPN!
