I like to talk really quietly for a minute or so and then SCREAM AS LOUDLY AS POSSIBLE. More than once I've heard the telemarketer swearing on the other end after throwing his headset on the desk.
Except that the HR drones and the "checklist" never go away. I and others that I know have had promotions held up for several years until an HR drone moved to a different job.
The article refers to a new time protocol known as Precision Time Protocol (aka PTP). This protocol has been around for a while -- v1 came out in 2002, v2 in 2008. It's implemented mostly in industrial control networks like EtherNet/IP.
My father ran a service station with two islands of two pumps each. Each island had it's own circuit breaker. I'd be surprised if this has changed much, so he should have been able to shut off the power to just a single island.
The moon is just another gravity well. Why use a bunch of energy to get into earth orbit (halfway to anywhere) and then use more to go down another well if you really want to go somewhere else?
One of the engineers I worked with told about working on an experimental electrical weeder for cotton. A charged bar was mounted on the front of a tractor and driven through the field. The bar was adjusted to be just a little above the cotton. When weeds grow, they typically stick up above the cotton, hit the bar and are electrocuted. He said it worked great, except for the safety problem. At the farm where they were testing, the farmer's dog came running up and hit the bar. So much for testing at that farm.
Seems like an electric prod would work well for this robot. 'Course, I'm don't know how you'd prevent the obvious dangers beyond trusting your software.
The key feature is the encrypted source code. The procedure is:
Decrypt source code
Compile source code to an in-memory assembly [behind the scenes the.NET framework calls Assembly.Load()]
Run a method on a class in the assembly
Seems like it would be easier and just as effective to use an encrypted binary instead. Then the procedure would be:
Decrypt binary image
Call Assembly.Load()
Run a method on a class in the assembly
I would certainly not trust a piece of downloaded code that included code to do either, so I'm not sure the first one has any additional advantages as malware.
Since you seem so hung up on "1) if a gun is used a crime police can see who it belongs to", maybe you can explain how that works? Do the police catch the criminal and then check to see who the gun belongs to? Or do you think criminals discard their guns at the scene of the crime?
Reason is usually pretty even-handed in placing blame on both Republicans and Democrats. They've also been known to blame private companies as well. There is probably plenty to go around in this instance.
Ummm...
Railway Time came to Great Britain in 1840. The British government didn't get around to passing a standard time law until 1880.
The history of standard time in the US is similar -- railroads standardized first, followed by standard time laws sometime later.
Legal automatic firearms were manufactured before 1986 and cost over ten thousand dollars each because of the limited supply. You don't seem to understand the law any better than the guy who said they were illegal.
Google texas tower shooting. Both police and armed citizens are credited with firing back and forcing the shooter to hide behind things so that we was not able to shoot as easily as he would otherwise have been.

Well, the decreased job mobility in the title of these posts ought to tell you why that doesn't work so well.

Like this?

To be fair, that wasn't intentional gene editing....

And why is everybody talking about him?

But wait a bit and you may find out it IS the Blight, pretending to be just a Class 2 Perversion.
An obvious mod choice is missing!
And I was getting so good at recognizing actresses, too!

She's 100% human -- adopted by Sarek and Amanda.
What a piece of crap this is.
Wisconsin GOP will find a way to spend even more money on corporate welfare -- and I think the Dems are mad they didn't get to do it.
It was overcast and raining here. Illinois is too far to travel. I'm waiting for 2099, when the path of totality will pass over my home.
