Hell I did a system wipe fresh install of Windows 7 yesterday. It took me 4 damn hours to find find the correct Dell network driver as Dell included 8 network card drivers on their restore CD. Why can't windows search subfolders while looking for drivers? Installed one reboot watch it fail install the next. My co-workers thought some of the status screens and driver screens I brought up were voodoo magic.

Also if you do give the smart tv your wifi password be prepared to block its MAC address at the router if you want it to not connect anymore.
My samsung tv I gave it the wifi password and ten switched inputs to wired network connections to prevent the tv from getting online. That I thought worked until I checked the router logs one day and noticed the tv was still trying to and sending data via wifi even though it was disabled.
So I blocked the MAC address of the wifi adapter and no more hidden data to be sent
I have I earn 50K a year and I can't buy a home. not when they start at $200k for a 900 sq ft condo plus hoa fees.

Roku and Apple don't see what you are streaming. The individual apps inside do however. Also you rarely pay roku directly I don't have a current credit card on my roku.
On my iPhone I use an app called file explorer. When I launch the app I can then activates an https WebDAV server that allows downloading of iPhone image and music files. Primarily I use it as a quick way to upload images from my phone to my work without having a regular connection. At home I have Dropbox intergration on both my laptop and NAS.
On a byod environment you need to shuffle files and may not always have a USB drive on you
I run classic slashdot on all my devices and stay logged in. Slashdot Web 2.0 doesn't have persistent logins across sessions without using the browsers login credentials.
So I switch to classic login and stay there for me slashdot usage. Oddly enough I find it faster and easier to read even with random scrolls left to right or pinch to zoom to adjust size.
