    Looper wasn't bad as they used multiple actors for the different ages. Is showing the audience that this person is the older/ younger version of themselves.

    I often find time travel loops in movies are hard to sort out which character is from which reality/time.

    Books it is easier.

    A standard issue MRE comes with chemical heat source to heat the contents of the food. You pour water and it reacts hot enough to reheat a cold meal.

    To be fair the history channel only turned to crap I the last 3-4 years.
      Tic has been cheap from the beginning.

    The only Chanel that's worse is syfy which lost its science fiction audeince to wrestlers. You can even hear about Syfy channe executives talk about it not realizing they themselves are what screwed to pooch. I used to watch the soft channel regularly. Now it is hardly at all. Even the b rated scifi lame movies suck.

    Right and you would trust the repair guy doesn't accede risky break your security cams while legitimatelyoving tools into the correct location? Letting a repair man in when no one is around is the fastest way to get robbed.

    Also anything online is hack able. Thermostat yawn no big deal. The worst that happens is either you spend to much I hear one month or you pipes burst in the cold. However door locks? That would be like the old school garage door opens where 50 codes existed and you could drive down the street looking for places to rob.

    I am not a fan of mfc locks either but at least someone has to be physically close for that.

  7. Actually both paper and glass is being used more and more. Mainly because both are heavily recyclable.

    I did the math at one point and realized it cost me money to change my own oil. The filters, oil and disposal cost me more than paying some one to do it.

    Exactly. We need a communication system that is cross platform. iMessage has some great features(especially since the latest OS X release. ). However it is limited to Apple only devices. What I want is iMessage/FaceTime app that has support on all devices and os's. That way I can communicate one method on all devices.

    As it is now I never use FaceTime as only my brother has an iPhone. Since continuity in OS X 10.10 iMessage is awesome. I can read and respond to all texts from either my phone or laptop. However that means my android tablet is left out.

    Lastly I either want iCloud or Google extensions so I can share bookmarks between platforms sanely.

    While not untrue the problem with acdemia is twofold. A failure to deliver on projects and a desire to do only prone ts that interest them. A designer of garbage cans isn't very interesting but it still has to be done. Some one has to design the toliet paper hanger,and shower curtain rod.

    Software is no different the really good pieces are tiny. The number of nuts,bolts hanger rods and misc crap is just if not more so important. Mainly because it isn't the interesting part that develops problems but the boring bits. Without the boring bits the rest of it isn't usable.

    Think how often you use the delete function or real world trashcan.

    raise the price by 1% and it goes right to your bottom line. Most people won't even notice that the $99 item costs $99.99. It is how gas companies do it.

    True but take all that and then finance the world's most expensive military by 10 times. That's the USA.

    If the USA would stop defending Europe and let Europe defend itself then the USA could shrink their military by 25%

    Of course the USA would never shrink it's military budget that might make sense.

    I remember a study that watched teenage dolphins purposely find a poisonous fish and chew on it gently enough to get high off of it and then pass it to its friends. I think it was a puffer fish but am unsure at the moment.

    Basically the dolphins were getting high and doing stupid stuff.

    The ISP are already doing deep packet inspections to throttle traffic. Why don't they use dpi to monitor botnet attacks and filter those? Even if they do it like av and patch afterwards. You can limit older botnets at least

    Novel netware and lotus notes both held the positions you just described.

    Someone will make an outlook/ exchange combo killer. They will do so by fixing/ creating group email/ document repository system.

    The next group will create an ad style replacement with relatively easy to setup mandortory access controls. Limiting hackers abilities to siphon large amounts of data off the relatively insecure windows has.

    I away figured Microsoft had enough money to not die until the early 2020's. Of course that was under the assumption that Ballmer would still be I charge until 2018 which is what his long term plan always was. His getting kicked out early means Microsoft might survive.

    Microsoft basically had two profitable divisions windows and office. I saw office slowly losing out to alternatives and windows not losing market share but profitability because of netbooks. You can't sell a computer for $$250 when $50 goes to Microsoft.

    Maybe with ballmers early release Microsoft can shift enough to survive

    While okay in concept with Apple pay the Banks do collect that data. it is with Google wallet that they get denied the data.

    At least that is how Apple Pay is supposed to work.

    On one hand I agree on the other I think of Lego mindstorms. Where there is money there is a way. I can see a company like Lutron doing this. Well maybe not Lutron as that particular company has a fire extinguisher shoved up its arse. But the concept is still valid.

    Exactly. The concept of the proposed article has been discussed to death for decades. It is often used as the rocket can be be launched and head towards mars, they can land, do SCIENCE!!!, and return all in the same (I think) 6 month window. Where the traditional launch and orbital transfer setup requires a multi year mission.

    Vinyl is better as it is compressed differently

    Mechanical switches are just like analog vinyl. Because the action is analog it isn't just on or off but has a slight curve between the states. The problem is the in order to be reliable mechanical has to be huge. At least compared to modern designs.

    Well that's because when Britan and the USA (and several other countries) invaded France to take it away from the German Nazi, they never invaded the language. Over the past 70+ years the French Grammar Nazi's have been keeping the French Language pure.

    Now the English Languge on the other hand has slept with everybody and picked up a little special parting gift from every Language.

    That's why English has rules. Like I before E except after C unless you are an Efficient Ancient.
