  1. Re:One speaker as good as 5? on Single Speaker Unit Delivers Surround Sound · · Score: 0

Sounds very much like holophonics, which Psychic TV were mucking about with in the 80s (see: Dreams Less Sweet album - the sounds were recorded from within a full sized human dummy).

    Interesting stuff.

    Hear hear.

As an independent musician, I use P2P as a free distribution network. But then, I am more interested in people hearing my stuff than getting rich. Luckily.
And here is where I plug my band.

I would imagine there will be the usual length cinematic release (well, usual for a LOTR film so far), then the 2 disc DVD, then the 4 disc DVD.

Of course those of us with a great deal of patience will be waiting for he 12 disc DVD boxed set of the trilogy...

I'm sorry but I find them 'deep' purely in a hollywood sense, which is not at all. Sure it makes teenaged boys think about "hey what IS real?" but thats about it. Epoch shattering it isn't. Confused, pretentious shite it most definitely is.

  23. Spambayes pwns. on Comparison of Bayesian POP3 Spam Filters · · Score: -1

I've been using Spambayes for a few months and I have to say it's excellent. I now get NO spam in my inbox whatsoever, I check my unsure folder once a day and I never bother looking in my Spam folder - I just empty it once a week (roughly 500 messages/week).

I don't even have to read spam anymore, and I'm confident there are too few false positives for me to worry about.

  24. Well on gDesklets - Gnome2's Karamba · · Score: -1

It certainly looks completely pointless RAM devouring nonsense, and I could care less whether the KDE or Gnome version is best.

You would think the developers would concentrate on making the GUI more and more accessible thereby facilitating Linux's use as a desktop OS.

But no, uber-geekery is the order of the day. How dull.
