    I don't know what site you refer to as "this site" but no where in the post does it say the free ipods links are legit, they're simple pointing to a NY Times article examining the phenomenon.

    it's a scam:
    --"I have had two friends sign up for this promotion. Both got five friends at the same time and one was told her iPod was being shipped and the other was denied for mysterious reasons. So even if you fulfill the requirements, you'll only get super-spammed instead of an iPod."
    --"I know several people who completed the offers, had their friends complete the offer and never got anything. Not to mention they got signed up for every mailing list in existence."

    posts like that are enough for me to declare they're a scam.

    All that and it still only got to 130mph.... let's not forget most modern vehicles easily reach that speed stock. So forgive me if I'm not all that impressed.

    I've been looking for Marathon for about a month now for a old G3 iMac PC running OS9 and I can't find a full version *anywhere*.

    http://source.bungie.org/ claims to have it, but the link I clicked "Download Marathon Aleph One" for OS9 resulted in a 1.9 megabyte file, a little small for a FPS even in 1994.

    This site claims to have it but in the faq it says you need "a copy of Unreal Tournament" which is way too high-tech for a G3 Mac with 2meg video card.

    any other real sources where I can download a full copy of Marathon?

    his neighbors the polar bears? He's in freakin alaska, unless the polar bears have freakin lasers on their foreheads I don't think he has anything to worry about, besides a 35 foot mech is the perfect weapon against his neighbors the polar bears with freakin laser on their foreheads.

    I don't think so. What I find funny is they competely downplay the fact that it includes a remote. Looking at the pictures you'd guess that you have to touch your case just to play a media file which, to me, is equivalent to walking up to your DVD player to press "play", and who wants to do that? But "hidden" deep in the text it says "This deluxe version of S-presso features a touch-control color display panel as well as a TV tuner, remote control, and multimedia center software." Now don't you think they could have showen a picture of someone using the remote, or at least a picture of the remote somewhere?

    It'd also be cool if the remote somehow attached to it's own little port in the case because something that size with a giant handle is designed to be moved around and it'd sure be nice to snap the remote onto it without having to remember to bring the remote.

    FYI Newegg has the S1-P112 (same case except touchscreen, remote & software) for $215. This site claims to have the one discussed here, the S1-P111, for $250.

    I can think of a few reasons why someone would rather use this technology than a printer:
    1) Don't have to pay for the printer
    2) No consumables like ink and special photographic CD labels
    3) If you're on the go with your laptop you can create a nice looking label without a printer
    4) from the images on their website it looks pretty cool

    One problem I noticed and they mention on the website: "...It combines the CD or DVD drive of your computer with specially coated discs..." which means you have to buy special dics. No thanks to that, I'll stick with my sharpie, unless they're the same price as all other media.

    the kid at mcdonald's gave me stock advice the other day, should I believe that too?

    He went to space which is cool and all, but how does that give him the ability to determine that I have a 1 in 455 chance of being "wiped out by a civilization-ending event in the next 100 years". What's his PhD in? What research does he base his incredible claim upon? Not saying he's wrong, I'd just like to know where he got his information from.

    Wow that's what you guys are paying in the UK? 1 british pound is nearly 2 USD, so you guys are paying between $5 and $20 for a 8x10! Every walmart and walgreens in the US charges $2-$3 for a 8x10.

    Also could someone please explain why they always refer to 8x10s in these studies besides the fact that it makes photo printers look cheaper than professional developers? I mean honestly, unless you're a professional photographer in some regard how often do you print a lot of photos at 8x10? Anyone here print the entire family vacation at 8x10?
