"Not to incite flames, but this speaks volumes about the Bush administration."
The NYT article stated that these documents were edited before release by career lawyers at the DOJ and that Bush-appointed employees of DOJ made no changes at all.
Mr. Corallo said career lawyers who routinely decide how to censor material before public release made the recommendations about what to delete from the diversity report. He said their recommendations were sent to the office of the deputy attorney general, where it was reviewed by political appointees who made no further changes.
Take Athlon(TM)64 3200+ for example, the standard clock is 2000MHz. After adjusting it to the Minimal Power Management, as long as you PC stays under the low loading circumstance, the CPU clock will be located in 800MHz. As soon as there is a program starts running, the CPU clock will begin to add 200MHz each time according to the loading of data.
AMD Cool'n'Quiet! Technology allows the system to dynamically and automatically select the CPU speed, Voltage and Power combination that match the instantaneous user perfomance need. These changes can happen as often as 30 times per second.
There are different methods the motherboard can use to measure the die temperature. One is to place a thermal diode on the motherboard in the center of the socket beneath the CPU. Other motherboards report the temperature directly from the CPU's internal on-die thermal sensor.
Usually the report from the on-die sensor is 10-20C higher than the external sensor reports.
Harvard is a private university, Oxford is a government-funded university. In the U.S. government universities are funded by the individual states and tuition ranges from $1,500-4,000/yr, while many states such as Texas and Georgia waive the tuition fees for students who keep their grades above a certain level.
Oxford weighs funding changes "despite Oxford's proud history and its impressive architecture, it is losing its competitive footing to America's top-tier colleges and universities, such as Harvard and Yale."

With all of this attention to security can someone explain why there are still over 30 vulnerabilities in IE6, a piece of software that was released over two years ago?
I guess this gives nVidia time to release nv40 before the HL2 launch. Now their crappy DX9 inplementation in nv30+ will not matter. Seems like this has worked out perfectly for them
1) Starting around 9/11 of this year, someone other than me was accessing my email account. This has been determined by looking at traffic on our email server versus my travel schedule.
2) Shortly afterwards my machine started acting weird (right-clicking on executables would crash explorer). I was unable to find a virus or trojan on my machine, I reformatted my hard drive, and reinstalled.
3) For the next week, there appears to have been suspicious activity on my webmail account.
4) Around 9/19 someone made a copy of the HL-2 source tree.
5) At some point, keystroke recorders got installed on several machines at Valve. Our speculation is that these were done via a buffer overflow in Outlook's preview pane. This recorder is apparently a customized version of RemoteAnywhere created to infect Valve (at least it hasn't been seen anywhere else, and isn't detected by normal virus scanning tools).
6) Periodically for the last year we've been the subject of a variety of denial of service attacks targetted at our webservers and at Steam. We don't know if these are related or independent.
Well, this sucks.
What I'd appreciate is the assistance of the community in tracking this down. I have a special email address for people to send information to, helpvalve@valvesoftware.com. If you have information about the denial of service attacks or the infiltration of our network, please send the details. There are some pretty obvious places to start with the posts and records in IRC, so if you can point us in the right direction, that would be great.
We at Valve have always thought of ourselves as being part of a community, and I can't imagine a better group of people to help us take care of these problems than this community.

So does it weigh
2.6tonne(SI); 2,600kg (5,730lbs)? or
2.6ton(US); 5,200lbs (2,360kg)? or
2.6ton(UK); 5,820lbs (2,640kg)? Maybe we can get this in units of stones or VW beetles?
"during the above period, scientists were able to perform research on the effects of jet contrails"
Why was this moderated 'interesting' and 'insightful'? Do you see any links to this supposed 'research'? Is there any reason to assume that this is not entirely fabricated?
"During their research, it was found that a single jet contrail could be tracked by satellite across the U.S"
Was this research conducted by Art Bell and Jeff Rense? Has it only been published to a geocities or indymedia site? Links??!!?

Perhaps it is just Georgia then.
Georgia Tech is $1,808/semester while UGA is $1,709/semester, both are free if you keep a 3.0 GPA. But we do have a lottery to help subsidize that.

Gumbel seems to be following the well-worn path of fallen journalists blazed so spectacularly by Geraldo Rivera... kind of sad, really.
Does that mean Gumbel will be hosting the unveiling of Frankie Yale's secret vault?
