Of course it's all vaporware, but somehow you think that a Konami shareholder meeting is an indicator of a total market direction. Also, I couldn't find one Google hit to support your conjecture that Konami stated that 360 games will be the most expensive at the retail end. As for Costco, once again you are making a huge assumption. Not a single one of my friends bought their launch bundles at Costco last time around.

What about EA, Activision, and all the other publishers? They all are going to conform to Sony first party and Konami pricing schemes? Also, please show me the big news splash that would be all over consoel sites stating that MS games will be the most expensive of the next gen. EA has spoken publicly about ALL next gen titles costing more, not just 360. You are really an idiot.

You are a fanboy pot calling my kettle black. Also, it's amazing that you have a glimpse into the future of all the games coming out for the next gen consoles. I guess the rest of us will have to rely on deciding when they actually ship and we can play them.

So FPS, sport, and racing games are not fun? Geez, what that hell have I been doing enjoying Halo 2 and Forza? Also, if you think that Sony and Nintendo are going to price games any lower on average than MS you really are reaching. Take a look at the shelves and see which company holds their pricing higher for longer. Guess what? It's Nintendo. Both Sony and MS have a great library of greatest hits titles for cheap. Nintendo has a few that are usually still $10 more than the other 2. Also, keep in mind that MS is only one publisher. Do you think EA is going to price games higher on the 360 than the PS3? Once again, lay off the glue friend.

Right, because we all know Sony is run by a nice Japanese family out of their little shop in Tokyo and Nintendo is a kindly old man that just likes making kids happy. They have no profit or market share motivations like Microsoft does. And Microsoft will go out it's way to make games that suck and to kick puppies.

Compare the production cost of a game that came out at the start of the last console cycle to the costs of making a game for the 360 or PS3. Then ask yourself how they would ever make any money at $10-12. Millions of people buy DVDs and the occasional game will sell over a million. BY far most sell maybe a few hundred thousand for a hit and less than 100,000 for a flop. Take out everyone's cut and look how much is left for the dev.

As I stated in my other post on this topic, there is no way a small relativley unknown (in North America) company can take on Nintendo or Sony without spending hundreds of millions on marketing and even then it might not happen. Sure there are people that use their PSP or DS for emulation, but just like modding Xboxes it's still a small fraction of total sales. Nintendo has the handheld market sewn up and only a player like Sony can afford to chip away at that. The roadway of portable gaming is littered with cool "also ran" devices.

I mean DVD has just caught on like wildfire in the last few years and that's taken a long time. Very few people are going to jump on the Blu-Ray wagon after investing in their DVD collection. Once HDTV is the standard these new formats will have a better chance of gaining ground.
