It's cheaper for me to download an episode or two of BSG on iTunes then pay ~$80/month for Digital Cable to get the sci fi channel - hence I use iTunes.

  2. Assume nothing is real... on What Is Real On YouTube? · · Score: 1

Just like television. Why would anyone have the expectation that any of these videos are real, unless they are from a reputable news source? Have we learned nothing from the famous "War of the Worlds" radio broadcast? If anyone "Falls" for believing a video is real, it's likely there own fault.

When I first discovered YouTube, my first two thoughts were 1. Wow, this is so cool! Videos, movie clips and previews, old TV shows or cable shows shown on channels I don't have, old funny commercials, available anytime I get the whim to see something and 2. This is just like Napster back in the day - there is no way this is going to last long. Which is sad, because I enjoy using the service (and might even be willing to pay a small fee for it) and it's not like I would be spending money on these copyrighted videos anyway, so the copyright holders are losing nothing.

True. But, being old enough to remember both occasions, Viking was a HUGE deal at the time. After all, there was still speculation that there could be (or was in the past) water and/or life on Mars. We had been to the moon, sure, but never an entirely new PLANET. No one knew for sure what the surface of the planet looked like. Unlike the moon, Mars had an atmosphere. I remember when the first pics came back they showed Mars with a blue sky and everyone was shocked as to how "earth like" it looked. Later they did the color-correcting and showed the pics with the reddish sky, but those first shots that looked like the Arizona desert on a cloudless day make an impression.

I disagree as well. In two weeks, I will have completed my MBA after three years of working full time and going to school in the evenings. (ironically, I now find myself out of a job and the MBA salarys for jobs I'm interviewing for are less than what I used to make as a software developer). That said, it was an enormous comitment in both time and money - 2 3 hour classes per week from 6-9, plus "on average" 10 hours of work per class outside of the classroom per week. Couple that with group projects that require scheduling meetings on weekends and off times, and you pretty much kill any social life you might have had.

When you get the check, look at it and see when it expires, then get to the bank in cash it on time. Really, its not that hard folks.

Heck, even the school district from my small town had there own mainframe. Not to mention the non-apple small computers at that time - Commodore PET, Radio Shack TRS-80, etc. My bet is you'd have to go back until at LEAST the 1950s (probably early 50s) to match all the computing power on the planet with a single PC today.
