I'll tell you why I switched from Win XP to the Mac for my every day machine about a year ago - I sat down to work on a spreadsheet for a proposal that had to go out in an hour. As I started to type, my screen was taken over by an advertisment for some DVD. Antispyware software, anti-virus software, and a firewall - and still that crap gets through (even without using IE) and distrupts my work. That was the last straw - I went out and bought a mac that week, and haven't been bothered by spyware, adware, or viruses since.

  8. No Entourage? No thanks. on Rave Reviews for Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger · · Score: 1

I was strongly considering upgrading from Panther to Tiger just for the spotlight feature - finding things is always a chore (although still not as bad as the Windows "Find file " feature which i can start a search, go to lunch, come back, and it is still not finished). But, with 1000s of emails (many containing vital information) in Entourage, and that program not currently supported by the new search feature, there is nothing for me to do but wait.

This is a classic example of that truism. Most people don't need, don't want, and can't afford new televisions throughout their house, and I would guess are more or less happy with their current analog pictures. The government shouldn't be forcing this down everyones throats. And the idea that the government would pay to subsidize converters for low income households is ludicrous, when there are people within even the US that do not have enough money to eat.

I'd just like to add that those ratings are relatively recently. When I was a tyke (and when the original Star Wars was released) there was no PG-13 rating. Also, instead of NC-17 we had X,XX,XXX etc. which was pretty arbitrary and really just meant that the film was too strong to receive even an R rating. NC-17 was invented in order to try to put some standards on those types of films.

I remember the "controversy" well, and was in college at the time. The "revenge" title was scrapped because Jedi are presumably too good, and do not succumb to revenge. That's what George Lucas was quoted as saying at the time. So, it makes prefect sense that the evil Sith WOULD take "revenge". Say what you will about the new trilogy, I think they at least got the title of the last movie right.
