Kiting a check is illegal. I do believe the shiny new law was supposed to do the same thing back to the banks and make it illegal for them to do and adverse sort on deposits vs withdrawals.
I have no love of either the people behind can or lientology.
But tit-for-tat wikipee quotes won't do because wikipee is a transitory whiteboard unfortunately. The cost of eternal copyright is societal mental sclerosis
Members of CAN were prosecuted for rape because the girl they were 'deprogramming' got away still partially bound and got help. They were as much a cult as lientology.
It's a common practice with some industrial software. They develop modules and each one adds a feature to a device or software package. If you want it you pay for the license and get a key. Some of those keys cost 10 grand at one place I worked.
I don't see a problem with it in a game other than lying about how it works.
That's in an exhaustive 1541 ROM dis-assembly book. I do not now recall who published or wrote it. It had exhaustive detail on how the drive's rom worked. Using that and some machine code I actually found out you could store a file on the floppy that on power on would boot no-knock code. I used that for several years. Then tech got more difficult and less accessible for a time.
Now with small devices like the Arduino and Make Magazine's controllers many people are learning and better creating things with reasonably easy to understand tech.
You need a tax stamp for any machine gun with background check and six month wait. They are expensive as you cannot get a new one but only ones made prior to 1986.
In several states there is registration and until recently DC had an outright ban. You have to carry a special license in Illinois to buy and firearm or ammunition.
There are age restrictions at the federal level for firearms purchases and some states can be more stringing.
There is a Federally mandated background check now nationwide run by the FBI unless they're taking a piss and they deny you.
Criminals do not need a background check when they empty out police cars of guns even though Congress has repeatedly told them to comply.
I've seen a paper on hacking a blackbox device and getting access to the ram and compromising it fully. This was done in a way that the device was not powered down. I've lost the link but it was a router I think. They'd done a full analysis of the device by buying one and reverse engineering it. I've seen similar done to a Mailstation.
Coding the software into hardware is not a full solution. I would like my OS and configurations to be locked down that way on a SSD just because a reboot would clear out a compromise but it still means it's been compromised. Most companies do not have the fortitude, money, intelligence and will to have a well secured system.
If they have a gun and you don't it's wise to throw money in the direction you don't run. If they're still intent on killing you most gutter scum can't shoot so they'll hit some baby other than you. Thanks.
"Cocked and locked" is proper for some firearms when carrying them. It is ready to use with a small amount of effort. That does not mean 'easy to use' as there are a hideous number of laws, rules and regulations a lawful carrier of a firearm must know and abide by.
However proper discipline and training requires you to render the firearm safer if not wearing it. You don't leave a gun laying around 'just in case'. If you feel the need to have ready access to a firearm you are not personally carrying it should be in a safe of some sort.
You punish the person who misuses the firearm. Misuse is also allowing it to be misused. If death results then I am wholly supportive of murder charges and I am not one to allow mercy for this. I will in fact call it 1st degree murder and judge and convict accordingly. I hold myself and others to a higher standard than gutter scum.
I'm no longer interested to function at that level and I have very little free time. I'd prefer a front end or program to do it written by people who love the OS. If I were in a good IT security job and getting paid for it I'd be more attentive to making everything run right and hopefully I'd have the training and tools to do it. For my personal PC, enough to know I'm ok and I don't run any servers on it. The servers I run are few and isolated and are only for my use.
Document what you're talking about with examples. Assume the person you're explaining it too will not know what the hell you're talking about. Accept feedback and make the presentation better.
I find iptables arcane and tedious and SELinux even more so. I'm never quite sure I've smashed every possible fault with my setup.
I really need a good presentation, a good book on both and on security in general and six months of paid time off.
I'm afraid your coffee is based on our proprietary genetic technology and you do not have the right to smell or otherwise use it as your coffee beans authentication has expired. We've taken the liberty of deactivating your coffee beans and any resulting products from them. Should you have already created any food item from these coffee beans be advised that our patented remote bittering process has rendered it safe but otherwise unfit for human consumption. Any consumed food product have not been effected except for the federally allowed tainting of fecal matter to a bright blue.
No most modern operating systems can operate automated guns just fine. I prefer a Linux based one but I'm blasphemous denier of The One True Operating System.
They do know it worked because it's trivial to correlate your visit to when their ad is displayed. If they get a lot of 'anonymous' hits they know an add in a given time frame worked and will keep doing it. If they display ad x on day y and you visit on day y about product x they have a match. If they're even smarter they'll put a coupon code or other uniq identifying code on the ad which is spawn in real time for every browser getting the ad. That will tie you to the serving website.
I really thought the product coupon created for each browser view to be pretty cool even if I hate ads, it's a subtle hack that takes a huge amount of server power.
Virus, rootkit, theft. It depends on how valuable the key is. There are hungry people and paying them cash and expenses to go seduce or trick your people and copy keys. If that key is worth 100k to you it's worth it to pay 10k to get it.
Asswords are just that so are keys that have no secondary authentication such as an this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Security_token I prefer assword protected security tokens just to be mean to the user and put one more block on a thief. The user should get laid at least three times if nothing else.
Locking down their account with SELinux is a fourth. Running all of the users on a dedicated and glued shut server is fifth.
You really need a professional if you're at that level of risk.
Distros like control and stability. If you've got a harmless psychotic friend that can fix your microwave with a screwdriver and ducktape but goes all OCD and reprograms it so the start key is at the upper left you probably won't call them more than once.
It's far better to give them the broken microwave and whisper "HERF RIFLE" and go buy another microwave. When they come of of their hermitage after six months all emaciated and glowing you pat them on the head, feed them, offer profuse and glowing praise and then hand them a broken TV and whisper "Dail M for Mars". Then as they stumble off you sell the 10KW Microwave pulse rifle to Raytheon.
If the person is over 45 and statistics say that there is a high probability they will suck up health care someone else would do better getting don't let the insurance company pay for it. Instead only allow them to offer hospice or a Dr. K Klinic visit and a nice state paid funeral.
No it does not cover up the taste. There is almost no taste and what is there has a faint odor of skunk spray because of the brewing method and piss poor (pun yes?) glassware and storage. You can to some extent filter the vile out and carefully boost the alcohol by freezing then use it mixed drinks but it's easier to use a turbo yeast and brew a 40 proof malt liquor.
I have a fermenter full of beer that's been brewing since August 09, it might be bottled this month. It will sit in the bottle conditioning for at least six months longer. I love ales as they are easy and I can beat many of the higher quality high gravity ales in both taste and price.
My version of swill beer is an all barely malt with a good ale yeast fermented for at least two months and bottle conditioned for three more. I wish it was still cheaper than chinkweiser to make but that alas is long gone unless I get a farm.
I will trade for lagers from time to time but only a few appeal to me.
How the fuck are we to know? Where is the patent has expired or the drugged out hippie inventor has released it to the ALL? Srsly ORIGHT I patented that. Never mind.

Add 20 times the quoted figures or more to beat down the enviro-luddites and it's a non-starter.
Ok I may have mixed one of the ones mentioned here in with can

Would you pay a dollar for a BluRay that showed 30 minutes and if you liked it you bought a key that played the rest?
I don't much care either way. I like indie games, art and music and will stick with them.

It's been so long I cannot recall if the code was in that book or if I used this portion of it to create the program.
http://project64.c64.org/hw/1541_tricks.txt
I can't even find the program that ran on the C64 to stop the knock on the 1541.

So they've not convicted them of pedophilia and forced them out of a position of public trust and made them put signs in their yards.
I'm disappointed.

I was thinking more along the lines of alum level bitterness or bitterine.
Coffee is one of the threshold foods, it's nasty bitter to some and herbal bitter to others.
Now if you're talking starbucks that's just nasty every damn day.

Calling it a disease is wrong. Saying it can be cured is like trying to bleach a black man white or beating a gay man with officially approved porn.

Can't I just bash both sides with a hammer? It's a nice hammer. It doesn't fly yet but I'll figure that out soon.
