It seems the UK our GAME set of stores might have been an alternative target. The Game group actually bought the UK Electronic Boutique stores out a few years back as well.
Game Group, the UK computer games retailer, yesterday said takeover talks with a mystery suitor had ended. Shares slumped by a quarter on the news. Shareholder speculation about a bid flushed out a statement by Game Group on 31 confirming talks.
The company refused to say who and why, but unnamed sources quoted by Reuters, say there is a "connection between the collapse of talks and the $1.44bn acquisition of Electronics Boutique by its bigger US rival GameStop Corp", announced yesterday.
In a statement today, Game Group said it expects challenging 2005, thanks to price deflation. But March was good, with like-for-sales up eight per cent on last year. For the full year, the retailer pulled in pre-tax profits of £31.9m.
If the storylines are going to be just as rubbish for this new series I hope they can show they've got a sense of humour by using 'Blame Canada' as the outro theme music.
In fact, even Celine Dion would be better than the current intro music.

I don't know how the rest of the season will pan out...but given this info I think what could work is if after the next Doctor has had a go there's a series of 'Time War' related material....that way there's a branding thing and the chance to go through some of what is a big event in the Dr Who universe.
Or have the Time Wars been covered previously as well?
If you RTFA - its a study of how downloading affects Canadian artistes and the Canadian body is the Canadian Recording Industry Association (CRIA), not the RIAA.
The Opera 8 Beta I use has a nice turn plugins on/off button which I put next the turn images on/off button. Admitedly these are global rather than per site, but in most cases flash is used in adverts so it doesn't trouble me having plugins turned off all the time.
Well I'm not going to contribute again. I'd have to go round to all the people who have a copy to update them. Most of them won't care what a charango is anyway.
The DS having a touch screen and microphone as part of how you play the game makes it a *lot* different to other handhelds before it, and certainly has more to offer than just a 'Gamecube/PS in a box' type scenario. Even though some of the launch games were straight ports, there is scope for more in the future. I'm hoping for Myst style games being made as well.
Even my month-ago-didn't-play computer-games girlfriend was so enthused by Wario and Project Rub that she went out and got one for herself. While I welcome her joining the gaming community unfortunately this means I'm now no longer sure what she means went she wants to play games in bed now though.
I wouldn't carry my laptop around with me but I would use wireless with my PDA to do surfing if it was somewhere where I was getting coffee....however small these ads are its going to just get in the way on those small screen sizes.
I'd expect that buildings and roads made of this stuff would be better than normal concrete in earthquake zones. Though thats just a hunch
She'll love it even more with a decent controller!
This just in .... Bill Gates in a new press release calls Steve Jobs a copy cat.
Yes but beware - one of them has mod points!
Oh dang, can't use it on this discussion now.

You are right. If I've ever needed to be modded troll before that was it.

Just waiting for the tragedies to occur when Jeb signs this one off.

The most important thing is will the Canadian Government take note of this (and other supprtoing pieces) in the current discussions on anti-DMCA legislation?

Brits: Shop at home and have goods imported because they live on an island.

This comes up as a slashdot story the day after I get info about a Moog film being shown at my local cinema.
Why don't you put it in front of the Tower of London. That would make an impressive backdrop even if the thing itself isn't so good to look at.

Seems a relevant quote.
