But diamond semiconductors are prone to defects and impurities that have hindered development of prototype devices with performance close to the expected, theoretical performance of diamond semiconductor devices.
I heard that scientists have lab-created diamonds now. (Similar to lab-created Emeralds)
Do you think that this could increase the performance since impurities could be at a minimum?
Sorry, I forgot that the robot must be tempted by Microsoft in the desert for 40 days and proclaim that "linux will inherit the desktop" before they crucify him.
It seems to me that Sony and later Microsoft (don't mod me down please) did the right thing by including a DVD player in their respective consoles. Just look at the effect it has had on the college scene!!! Most kids want a gaming console and a DVD player, but 2 years ago a DVD player cost >$250 (for a decent sony/panasonic). The high school and college scene really drove the PS2 to new heights because of the $$$ of the gaming/DVD console. If your dorm room had a PS2, kick ass speakers, and a keg of beer; then you were set. By having a PS2 you had a gaming system, CD player, a DVD player, and a Linux computer (if you forked out the dough). All you would need is a TV, receiver, speaker, and the Keg of Beer.
Typical College Day
1) Wake up 2) Check email on PS2 3) Skip Class 4) Play Madden on-line on PS2 5) Eat 6) Watch DVD on PS2 7) Eat 8) Put CD in PS2 9) Throw Party & Consume Keg of Beer
SCO: I suggest you pay... IBM: or what...you'll release the dogs, or the bees, or the dogs with bees in their mouth, and when they bark they shoot bees at you?
"There's a passage I got memorized, seems appropriate for this situation: Ezekiel 25:17."
"The path of the linux man is beset on
all sides by the inequities of the selfish SCO and the tyranny of evil Microsoft men. Blessed is he who, in the
name of OSI and GPL, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my penguin brothers. And you will know my name is LINUS when I lay my vengeance upon you."
I agree with you, but it depends on the author as well. Some of the books are written so that almost anyone can understand who has an interest, others are written for a more mathematician crowd.
One of the books that I enjoyed was the Dover book on Information Theory. I think it was written in a style that most non-mathematicians could understand....but then again, I am an EE grad student...so my opinion might be a little off base.
But I do agree with you...a mathematical background when reading the Dover Books can't hurt.
The mathematical/physics books put out by Dover Books are decent. They give you a good overview and background of the subject. The subjects range from Number Theory, Information Theory, Magnetism, Mathematics, Physics, Probablility, etc.
In each book, there is a bibliography of the sources that it used, in case you want to do additional research on the subject.
As an added bonus, each book is less than $15, and they can be picked up at any Barnes & Noble. So its worth picking up to see if you are interested in a certain subject.
I totally agree with you. But what I find is that most girls (that I know) are "Nintendo" girls. They have a strong tie to the NES because it is what they grew up on, and it doesn't have a lot of buttons on it. (Easy learning curve)
My fiancee recently bought me a Gamecube because I really wanted to play Metroid Prime & Zelda...but I can't even touch it. She has taken the Gamecube over to play and beat SuperMario Sunshine, Zelda, Super Monkey Ball, Luigi's Mansion. I've created a monster,I hardly get to play my Gamecube. (or with her for that matter, kiddin)
I asked her why she was so into the Gamecube, all of a sudden, because she doesn't play PS2, Xbox or Dreamcast. She says she likes the games because they aren't realistically violent (like a SOCOM, MGS, or Metal of Honor) and she likes the puzzles that are a part of the game.
I never thought I could convert my fiancee to somewhat of a gamer, but here I sit at my computer while she sits playing Monkey Target on Super Monkey Ball.

I can now say that I have "ice" in my computer while listening to Nelly

Gamesharks & Glitchers make the game impossible to play online. It gets really annoying after 14 cheaters jump in game that was going well.
I just hope SOCOM 2 is more tolerable

Its like Dogs and cats, living together, mass hysteria!

Looks like someone beat me to the post...that's what I get for using the "Preview Button".

I still have "Raid on Bungling Bay" for my C64...it's one of my favorite games.

Goliath II(Nelson) throws a fish skeleton out of the window.
As the fish skeleton hits the ground...
David (Bart): "No!...Jonah!"
More people have been killed in the name of God than in GTA:Vice City.
Has anyone ever heard of "The Crusades".....actually that might make a good game.
I better give that Sim singer a part in my Sim movie.

No that's the next cellphone model...the one that has a built in revolver.
