    I think the point would be to run anti-virus software.

    Although, if virus writers would limit their CPU usage to just the second core, thus freeing up the first one, maybe people would stop bugging me about their system running so slowly.

    The real test of performance will be running DIR at a command prompt and seeing if it is finally as fast as a 486 running DOS 5.0 was.

    You really can't argue this one? The argument you need is called math.

    $5 OS + $4 modem = $9

    $0 OS + $6 modem = $6

    If they are concerned about unit prices - this is easy. IF they have other concerns about switching over the Linux due to support or application compatibility issues, then the cost of the modem is irrelevant anyways.

    I started a website for my high school alumni a year ago. Since day one, it has always said "no spam, no advertisements", etc.

    April fools, I put a big Classmates.com advertisement on the homepage asking people to click on our new sponsor.

    I live in upstate NY, and the local Wal-Mart has a sign that says "due to short supplies, PSP sales are limited to one per person". This is taped to the display that has been completely stocked since they arrived.

    Have you ever considered that there's not much interesting stuff going on with technology any more?

    While there is something cool once in awhile, It's highly unlikely that there will be a couple dozen interesting developments every day.

    It's late and I can't figure out how 3 mods found a Delphi comment so funny. I can't even imagine 3 mods even knowing what Delphi is. So, where's the egg? I happen to have D7 on my machine right now. Please say that the easter egg has something to do with some way to completely shut off that damn Delphi Direct thing!!!

    Prices haven't changed in a year on CPUs and RAM. Maybe this will at least force the low to mid level stuff to drop.
