I've dealt with OBDII when I worked at various shops, and frankly after dealing with it I don't think computers belong in cars at all. They worked for 80+ years beforehand and put out better numbers to boot.

But that's just my opinion, I could be wrong.

  13. Pollution much? on Self-Destructing DVD's Coming Soon · · Score: 0

Not to be totally redundant, I have to point out the fact that not every place supports recycling - my surrounding towns do on-street pickup, but we don't, the closest thing we have is a redemption center which is just for bottles and cans. That doesn't even matter, because most of the items I see in the recycling bins by the street are milk jugs and soup cans, no newspapers, no various other plastics, nothing.

I'm not a big eco-freak, but I'd rather see the oil they're using go towards gasoline. At least that's a necessity (especially for my V8, heh) for pretty much everyone.

If there isn't a redemption value on these, nobody will recycle them.

We have an HP OfficeJet R80, and this thing is a tank. It's absolutely huge because it scans, copies, and faxes too, but we've had no problems at all with it, and it's been put through the wringer the past few months from the parental figures making threefold copies of my late grandmother's photo albums. The ink costs an arm, a leg, and a few more extremities from anyone in your immediate area, but I see it as worth it for something that's been regularly used for the past few years. That, and even the computer illiterate people (my family =/) can work it no problem.
