So you want companies to start including expensive custom hardware with their games? That'll surely kill the market.
Besides, when you own the hardware, you can pirate all the other games easily. Buy Guitar Hero World Tour, full set with drums, guitar etc, and you can pirate Rock Band 1 2 3, Guitar Hero 3, 5 and all the band version.
So not really the best argument, unless they make the hardware incompatible with each version, which would be very retarded.
And then they kept fucking the customers over, by releasing new games over and over, with nothing more but new songs in em and a small feature tweak that easily could had been sold as DLC.
Rock Band was actually on the right track, Guitar Hero was not. But Guitar Hero ruined it for everyone else, by giving the entire thing a bad reputation.
If I wanted to play with Joypads, I'd play on my PS3 or Xbox360. For the sake of the argument, we are comparing joypad vs generic keyboard & mouse setup.
Not that I see don't your point, but it's really not relevant.
This is exactly the problem. I've seen a lot of comments about graphics, but graphics isn't the problem with "consolitis". It's controls and game play.
I've posted on this subject before in another thread, but I'll make a short recap of what I said then.
The major problem of "consolitis", is the game play mechanics used on console, does not always work on PC. You cannot take a game made for console and port it directly to PC. It just won't work in most cases. The game play is all wrong.
You need to dumb things down for console, which is ok, even though "dumb" is a negative word. But, as said, you cannot transfer that directly to PC, where you have a magnitude of more options in controls.
If it contains all the minerals, proteins, aminoacids and generally all the qualities of regular meat, I don't give a damn what's on the label. Though, I'd think they give it some catchy name or catch phrase.
I would assume that this announcement means that Facebook will now be fully compatible in HTTPS mode. If not, nothing really changed, as you said yourself, it's been possible to use Facebook in HTTPS for quite some time now. Just IM isn't working in HTTPS.
I keep a strict policy of only having people I actually know, and interact with on a regular basis, on my friends list. The entire "I got a gazillion friends!" craze completely eludes me.
If anyone came up to me and said that five months from now they'd be harvesting thirty percent of my revenue, I don't think that conversation would last very long.
Don't forget that you're only having that revenue because of them in the first place.
No mod points, so just saying I agree with parent. I've been a fan of FF, but FFXIII killed it for me. X-2 I could forgive and forget quickly, but not FFXIII.
I'll give em a chance with FFXIII-2, but I won't have high hopes.
No, the PC gamers just do more teamwork than the Consolers. The Consolers just shoot people, and don't care about helping your team as much as PC gamers.
Which is exactly what I gathered from the resume. Since Mozilla mailed the users on adons.mozilla.org, I assumed it was the database with users from adons.mozilla.org that was compromised.
Am I the only one who thinks current generation of consoles are just fine and it's the game developers who's getting behind? Might be the fact I think console games and PC games are 2 different things.
Console games are casual games. Something that can be rightfully played with a controller. God of War type of games, Little Big Planet, Assassins Creed, Uncharted, racing games, sports games.. and so on, you get the idea.
The graphics isn't on par with PC, no. But it doesn't need to be. Why is everyone so concerned with graphics? Assassins Creed looks awesome on console. So does God of War. Good enough for me anyway.
Stop making shitty ports and make console game independent from PC games. As I've previously said in another thread about console vs PC gaming, what works on a console with a controller, doesn't necessarily work on PC with keyboard and mouse.
Basically my point it, stop worrying so damn much about graphics and focus more on the right gameplay for the right hardware. There's PC (keyboard & mouse) type games and there is controller type games.
There is no need for next gen consoles. Current gen introduced HD and recently 3D and motion sensor controllers (granted, Wii have had the latter for a long time, but still).
What would a "next gen" have? Sure, upgraded hardware, but it would need something else too.
Of course, if some brainiac invents some sort of virtual reality 3D gaming over night, hell, I'll scream for a next gen console with THAT in it.

Way to miss the entire point of the argument.
So you trade down, to make a point?
Joke's on you.

And yet they render differently.

I did not know that.
Not that I agree that 30% is acceptable, but some sort of price is.
Facebook is stuck with the hosting bill.
As Facebook said, this is meant to spark a debate amongst the application developers and Facebook about what is a fair price.

Ever tried "Foxit"?
Sony fucked that up when they took over.
Awww, someone can't afford a console or a decent gaming rig.
No, the PC gamers just do more teamwork than the Consolers.
The Consolers just shoot people, and don't care about helping your team as much as PC gamers.
See what I did there?

You haven't missed anything, except the decay of the UT community.
I got no mod points, so posting in agreement instead.
woooosh
It means exactly what he thinks it does (unofficially)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PSX
The PlayStation 1 is very often referred to as PSX, so in this context, PSX means PS1.
...to jail.
